And there is Sara, who is sunburned from her promised day out of doors. She's currently curled up on a couch, flipping through a magazine. Anyone who touches her shoulders will be risking both her pained wrath and becoming covered in aloe gel.

Sara's high school experience consisted mostly of her hiding in the library working on physics and leaving a year early. Popularity, boyfriends, even friends themselves weren't priorities for her.

"Must be tough," she says with no little sympathy.

"A little."

She shrugs.

"It's probably a pretty boring story if it's not, you know, your life. What do you do?"

"I'm a crime scene investigator, and work with the Las Vegas crime lab."

"That sounds really cool," says Hannah. "So you're like one of those people who solves crimes because you find like a q-tip and a 100 yen coin at the scene of the come and then piece the whole thing together?"
