Zoe's in the bar again tonight, Naomi settled in a sling across her front as she walks in--more or less a necessary piece of equipment, given the number of ladders and catwalks on Serenity.

She ends up settled in a booth with dinner, but conversation, or stopping by to meet the littlest Washburne, would still be welcome.

Goliath was in a chair reading when he happened to spot the woman and baby. Curious he approaches, very slowly and carefully not wanting to startle mother or child.

Zoe senses something approaching, and glances up.

...Well. That's something she hasn't seen in here before.

She looks at the approaching gargoyle for a moment, a little nonplussed, but not exactly startled.

"Ni hao," she says, finally.

"Hello." He bows his head slightly and gives a smile, making sure there are no fangs in it. He stops a short distance away, close enough to see the baby a bit better but giving a berth as a courtesy.

"I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you its just...its been awhile since I've seen a child." Human or otherwise.

Zoe offers a slight smile in response.

"No, it's fine."

She turns a little in her seat, offering a better view of the baby in the sling.

"She's just about a week old."

Startlement at meeting a gargolye versus new-mom urge to show off? No contest.

His smile grows and its hard to believe that a face literally made from stone can go that soft, but it does. He holds up a hand and gives a small wave with one finger at the baby.

"What is her name?"

Naomi stares back at him.

New person who is more different than any of the other new people. Iiiinteresting.

"Naomi. Or, well, Naomi Annieliese Warren-Washburne, but that's a bit of a mouthful."

Goliath chuckles, "It is, but it is a lovely name as well.

"So small..." He waves some more and then places his hand on his chest, "My name is Goliath."

Zoe smiles again, nodding politely. "I'm Zoe."

"It is nice to meet you, and Naomi." He seems captured by the child's wide eyes and his smile never wavers.

"You too."

She starts to gesture invitingly to the other side of the booth, considers Goliath's size for a moment, and nods toward a nearby empty chair instead.

"So...I gotta say, I've been comin' here about a year now an' not met anyone quite like you before."

He nods in thanks and sits down. "I myself am new here and I doubt any of my kind have been here before me. We are rare, even where I come from."

Goliath pauses a moment, considering and then offers an answer to the question that is no doubt coming, "I am a gargoyle. I came here from the city New York."

[ooc: m'sorry but I gotta get some sleep. Slowtime alright?]

Zoe's eyebrows go up a bit.

"I've been t' New York, once. Didn't meet any gargoyles, but aside from the rare part, I understand not everyone who's from New York here's from the same New York."

[OOC: Getting sleepy myself, so slowtime is fine. :D]

"Yes, I was quite amazed when I found out that was the case." Goliath nods, "Not only other versions of the same city, but other times as well. Its...incredible."
