Today, Random is the sort of 'sociable' that is, quite plainly, 'distract me from what I'm thinking about before I shoot something.'
In him, it manifests as a regal, quiet stillness. The sort of still that Cesar was before he looked out at the gladiators and flicked his fingers idly and said 'this is boring, let the lions into the arena.'
It's a good cover for the frustration, actually.

Resting her chin on her hand, she watches him with her normal detached amusement.
"Hey, Random."
no subject
He doesn't quite snarl it.
Then sighs, and holds up his hands apologetically. In a milder tone;
"Sister. Evening."
no subject
She blinks at him.
"Evening. Not a good one?"
no subject
He laughs, without humour.
"A month would be more accurate."
[ooc: no worries. everything okay? slowtime if you need?]
no subject
"Oh, dear." She looks at him closely.

But he's happy.
Námo frowns at the tea Bar produces, then sets it back down.
And spots Random.
"Good evening, Random," he greets quietly as he approaches.
no subject
His tone is quiet. More cagey than Namo will be familiar with.
no subject
"Are you not well?"
no subject
He smiles, tightly.
"Really."

The success rate of this tactic is not terribly high.

He's too tired.
"Yes, I'm the one who told him about you and the card. I'm glad he left you. I'm sorry for you, but I'm glad he left you. He has responsibilities he couldn't afford you to compromise. That's all."
no subject
"And it's...(not alright but I think) I understand."
She takes a sip of her drink--tequila. Big surprise.
no subject
He cocks his head.
"I didn't lie."

Mal's long since ceased to play with the cat, and is flicking a knife in one hand.
"Something wrong?"
no subject
A polite, empty smile.
"Thank you. You?"
no subject
"I'm fine. Had a birthday the other day."
Pause.
"You sure? I'm okay if you need to vent, and I've had practice being a target if you need to work out frustrations."
no subject
"No."
The 'thank you' is implied.

Oh, yes, this is a Gorlim. Minus shirt. Distinctive lack of scars.
Yo.
no subject
Normally he'd catch.
But not today.
Today it's off the barstool they go.
"Christ! Gorlim!"
no subject
Random asked for the arena lions.
Now he's pinned by one.
Kitty pwnage, bitch.
Sorta.
no subject
Just. You know.
