He is bothered.
He has been bothered for most of the day.
He isn't likely to tell you why he is bothered, because he doesn't like why he's bothered.
But, if you are looking for a drinking partner, this is your guy.
There are two empty and one half-empty bottle, and his glass is only a quarter full.
Námo isn't drop down drunk, but he is trying.

She drops into the seat across from him.
"What's the occasion? Or should I just get a glass?"
no subject
"Get a glass."
no subject
She pours herself a drink and takes a sip. "You'll have to forgive me if I'm a few rounds down." She tilts her head towards the empty bottles. "But you did start the party without me."

"Wise? Howso? Didn't peg you as a competitive drinker, lovely."
Another sip. "I'm doing alright. I'd ask you the same, but three empties by yourself is answer enough."
no subject
He rests his chin on his hand.
"My troubles are petty and should have been expected. But I am not as wise as I claim much of the time. I am a fool, who does things without thought to my own heart."
no subject
"I'm sober and I don't think I got all of that. What...If you're trying to drown something, it sure as hell isn't petty. What did you do, lovely?"
She doesn't really expect an answer, but she'll listen if he gives one.

She's the only one in the whole bar he thinks would understand.
"I made them mortal, Mary Anne."
no subject
She knows, she was there, but there's a piece she's not getting--a sliver of glass on the floor she can't see to pick up.
no subject
"I should not be jealous of her."
Still, he can't look at Mary Anne.
no subject
"Oh...oh."
She sets the glass down and isn't sure what to say.

"It is a side effect of the bond. He has always known when there was another, just as I have always known when he shares himself. While my lovers brought tears to his eyes, made hurt rise in his belly, he does not seem to think I feel the same."
Námo drinks more.
"As if because who it is changes the way the heart reacts."
He isn't really looking for words. Just... someone to trust. Someone who won't tell him he asked for this because of who he chose to love.
As if he ever had a choice in the matter.

"She is his wife, lovely."
wife fiancee lover sister friend
("Do you love him?")
"But it's never fun having to share when you'd rather have things otherwise."

"Thank you dove, but I have little appetite. I am sorry."
The words are not harsh or clipped.
Just... tired. Perhaps a little slurred.
no subject
"I'm sorry."
A hand rubs circles on the Vala's back.
"Will you be with me tonight?"
I want to show you -- it's all right now. It'll be all right. I love you still. Love you always. NOTHING changes that.
no subject
"Why are you sorry? You have no reason to be."
As he told Mary Anne, he knows there hasn't been some horrible slight against him. He knows there was nothing ill meant in all of it.
He knows...
Which is why he is so confused over how he feels.
"You do not need to spend the night with me as penance for something you did long before I arrived."

"I do not know what that is. And I have already spent a significant time with the wren, so being alone is not much of an option. It never is in this place."
Námo sighs and rubs his face.
"Why... did we have to... reforge the bond?" He shakes his head. "Do no answer that. It will all pass. Everything... passes."
no subject
He keeps rubbing Namo's back, but does not yet take him into his arms.
"I don't. I'm forever now. Give me... give me your pain. Share it with me, let me try to lessen it. I have your son's powers, do I not? I can try to help it somehow..."
no subject
It's an honest smile.
"I would like a horse. Perhaps you can come with me to Oromë's keep soon and help me choose one. I should speak to someone about stabling the horse here..."
Stealthy change of topic.
no subject
Searches.
He sees the honesty in that smile, and returns it.
Hears the honesty in his words, and acknowledges it with a nod.
Takes his hands, and stands up.
"Come take a walk with me. Talk to me a little while, and then I shall fly with you anywhere in all the worlds you wish and find you a horse. Right now. Tonight, if it please you."
no subject
He glances at the empty bottles, then nods.
A walk, a talk... it couldn't be too dangerous of an endeavour.
Námo stands. "Where would you like to walk?"
no subject
I won't let you push me away.
no subject
And thinks.
Then begins to walk.
He holds lightly to Gorlim's fingers with one hand, a step ahead of him, though his pace is relatively slow. Outside is where they go, but not to the lake or the cairn or their clearing. None of those places made him happy at the moment. But in his mind is a place, deeper in the woods, a place where troubles never seemed to follow.
So, he walks.
