There is a very panicked father in the bar.
There is a girl-baby on his lap playing with one of his vest buttons sulkily. This is obviously a very grumpy baby, who is NOT LEAVING HIS SIGHT. PERIOD.
He is scanning the bar for anyone who looks like a likely babynapper. FEAR!!! FEAR THE KILTED GUY WITH THE SWORD!!!
(But if you're not a babynapper, you can come chat.)

He wants his son back.

And ooooh, are there going to be words.
There may be an undertone of flailing. And of a kind of mental implication of a wordless thought that might be interpreted as You got ARRESTED??? You fought MELKOR and you didn't let me have a few punches in???

"Nothing. From anyone."
And Eru, did it hurt.
"I am sorry, dove. So very sorry."
no subject
"She wants her brother. And you. She doesn't understand why she can't have them. I... didn't tell her where you were. Kids understand things."
no subject
"Soon, dovelet. We will give you your brother soon."
I disliked being locked up.

Gorlim rubs his forehead wearily. "She has been doing that all night, and all morning, and she will not eat anything."
The tone is resigned and regretful and frustrated. At least, though, he hadn't found Melkor either.
no subject
He kisses her brow, looking at Gorlim.
I know you would have. But... I did not want to intrude on what happiness you had yet.
"Little bit, will you please eat something?"
no subject
Kelly continues to whimper and pull at Namo's shirt. She kidks her feet a little in rebellion against the Way Things Are, but6 having not eaten, she has little energy for a full-scale revolution. This is clearly a child who will be prone to temper tantrums. At least until her daddy teaches her better. Unfortunately, it's difficult to teach a non-speaking, almost immobile infant that they can't have what they want and there are better ways of dealing with it than trying to scream down the moon.

"Young lady," he says a little more sternly. "If you do not eat, you will not be seeing Gabriel any time soon."
I cannot believe Security will do nothing!

Kelly pouts at him and babbles something that, while it sounds like nothing in any language spoken by any of the adults present, is most certainly something profane in baby-talk.

Our son has been sold, and they toss me into a cage.

Rabastan'll probably catch hell from Asar-Suti for that when the Seker finds out, but for now he's resting, listening to the bar radio in silent thought.
Coincidentally or not, it's playing Def Leppard's "Animal".
Most likely not, as that's what the narrative is listening to, and...
Yeah.
He'll notice Gorlim's about eventually...
no subject
He also thinks the music is a little... jarring.
He gives his brother a LOOK, but doesn't come closer.
Edgy.

Some country-sounding ditty sung by a band Canadians would be familiar with.
Blue Rodeo.
"I want to know where
My confidence went
One day it all disappeared
And I'm lying in a hotel room
Miles away
Voices next door in my ear"
The Wizarding Wireless this is not.

He has enough trouble with her father already.Instead, he stops in mid-step and smiles at the girl-baby.
"Hello, Gorlim! You're looking--uhhhh."
"What's wrong?"
no subject
"OIur son has been kidnapped," he replies without preamble. "Or more specifically sold. And rather than arrest Namo's brother or look for the unknown person he was sold to, Security, in their infinite wisdom, arrested NAMO for trying to beat it out of him."
He scowls and clings to his daughter.
"And good evening how are you, Malcolm?"
no subject
"It's certain Namo's brother--Melkor?--was involved? I only ask because I still don't know that much about him."
no subject
He's actually not cross with Namo on that count. He's accepted by now that, Ultimate Evil or not, family is family.
no subject
"And, come to think of it, what can you do? This is Melkor..."
no subject
"Well... here's how it is: Gabriel, when he is older, will be a powerful magician. But to keep him from accidentally destroying the world or killing anybody, he powers are stored in me until he's older. Which means I would feel it, Namo claims, if he were taken out of the bar, or killed. Neither of these things has happened, so we're just going to... keep looking, keep asking. I dunno what else we CAN do. Namo says it would be easier if they DID take him out of the bar, because then we could follow him, but whoever has him is hiding GOOD."
no subject
"Could you also use that link to track him somehow? To guide you to him?"
no subject
no subject
"If there's anything I can do to help, you'll let me know?"
no subject
"Aye. Thank you, Malcolm. Tell me, how are you?"
no subject
He's not about to get into the run-in with Ruin. Malcolm is still angered over that, but he's good at hiding his emotions when he has to, and enough time has passed to make it that much easier.
"But I guess your trouble means they might be getting less quiet again."
