Steph's worried about Zuko - very worried. Surely he should be back now - it's been days!

How long is it gonna take, anyway?

She's eyeing the rafters longingly. When emo, head upwards; that's the rule she's almost always lived by. But when you have not-quite-entirely-dog puppies to look after, rafters are a bad idea. She can just see Zuko coming back in just in time to see Gheri and Gifr go splat.

... It wouldn't be pretty.

So: there is a Steph, over by the fire, in an armchair. She'd be curled up tight and emo, but the puppies have just fed and want to sleep, and it's hard to curl up when monster-puppies want to use you as a pillow. It's hard to stay emo, too. Puppies: the solution to all emo. Steph's thinking she should market it.

"I hope so," Sansa agrees. "The one I know of has brown hair, brown eyes, yea tall," she uses her hand to show his height.

"Don't think I won't ask him when next I meet him," Sansa answers darkly. "At least I now know something of the masks he wears."

The girl looks back at the pups. She hesitates visibly before saying, "I raised a wolf pup once. I know something of them, if you ever need aid."

Sansa smiles in relief when her offer is accepted. She quickly adds, "Oh, yes, they do need meat. And good clear water. But watch that you don't overfeed them. I almost did that with Lady and was rightly scolded for it. Do you know how big they will grow to be?"

Sansa's eyes widen. "And I thought direwolves were big," she mutters. "I'd suggest the stables here...though they'll likely frighten the horses." She looks at the puppies thoughtfully. "Maybe you could rent another room for them once they reach their full size?"

"You'd likely have to bring them outside for that," Sansa admits, "but for sleeping arrangements it should work well enough. Then again, I hardly know all the rooms available at Milliways." A light shrug.

She then notes of the puppies, "They don't look ill."

"They're not awake, mind, and I'm no maester, but--" Sansa begins to caution, only to stop, looking confused.

"Was Zuko not searching for a cure for them?"

Sansa absorbs the idea, her face draining of expression.

She moves toward Steph, rubbing the older girl's shoulder, murmuring softly, "I'm so sorry."

Sansa has had this conversation quite often of late. She lets go of the girl's shoulder, but takes a seat beside her.

"Waiting - and wondering - are so difficult. Men attack their foes with swords; women cannot attack their fears the same way."

She's given that response a lot, too. Sansa reflects that she'd really like to say something different.
