He's down in the bar tonight.
Gabriel is in his highchair, his favourite foods in little bowls spread out on the tray. Námo is carefully feeding him, speaking softly to his son or laughing at something Gabriel says between bites.
This is a happy Atar.

That is his intent, until he sees a Very Happy Námo with baby Gabriel, and he smiles. Two people he hasn't seen in a while.
No, he knows nothing about Gabriel's ... adventures—he thinks it's just Námo playing the proud daddy to his son.
Best not to disabuse him of this notion just yet.

"Good evening, Rabastan," he says pleasantly.
no subject
Pause.
"Merlin's beard every time I see him he's bigger than the last time."
Spoken in a "What kind of food is this kid on?" tone.
"He's growing like a weed, he is."
Big grin for Gabriel.
no subject
"Yes, he does indeed."
Gabriel smiles a toothy grin at Rabastan. "Ada's brofer!" Gorlim has spoken often to Gabriel about the wizard. Then there is a pouty-face at Námo. "Want Ada!"
Námo sighs. "Soon, love. Ada is... busy. He will bring Kelly to you. Kelly has missed you."
"Kel! Want Kel!"
There is a tired father eye-rubbing, then he returns to feeding the boy.
"He has been missing, you see," he explains to Rabastan. "He was kidnapped by a fairy with my brother's help. We only just found him last night."
no subject
The grin broadens. Although it's been said many times before, Rabastan's a fool for children.
"That kid is clever. Yes, it's Gorlim's brother—
Say what? Kidnapped?"
Fairies? Changelings? Divine brothers?
He's heard stories about changelings and the pranks they pull, such as replacing human children with one of their own, albeit disguised, but he knows Námo's too clever to be given a glamoured baby disguised as Gabriel and to fall for the ruse, so he says nothing about it.
"Kidnapped?"

Gabriel smooshes some pear into his mouth.
"Hawk! Hawk n crow play!" he announces.
"Hawk is Puck," Námo explains. "I have yet to figure out who 'crow' is."
no subject
Puck... Puck... That name sounds familiar. Possibly something mentioned during Muggle Studies while he was fighting sleep.
Oh well. He can read up on Puck later on.
"Wouldn't know who this 'crow' is either, though I'd suspect that, if they're anything like the bird, they're prone to collecting things that catch their eye, and will guard their treasures jealously."
He thinks a moment.
"Is it your custom to name people after birds?" he asks casually. "If so then it looks like young master Gabriel has picked it up and is using it himself."

"He's back!" Namo gets a one-armed hug as she moves around to press a kiss to Gabriel's head.
no subject
"Yes," Námo says, smiling brightly at her. "Puck had him."
no subject
"Puck? As in 'if we shadows have offended' trickster Puck?"
no subject
He doesn't much know about the play.
But there are happy sticky fingers!
no subject
Sticky finger removal is now her first priority.
"Where is he ow now?"
no subject
Which gets even more sticky since his mouth is half-full of mushed peaches.
"I left him in Dublin, which is where John Taylor tracked Gabriel to."
He finds this... so very amusing.

"You found him! You found him you found him you're all right both of you!!!!"
Kelly seems to echo his sentiments in a much less recognizable language. There may be a hint of scolding in her tone as she trills off an uninterruptable stream of chatter at her brother. She missed him! And why does he get to have an adventure without her?
no subject
Námo smiles and kisses Gorlim's cheek.
"Yes. We had help from a man named John Taylor. He was able to find him. But it was Faramir who told us who took him." He kisses Kelly's brow next. "I am sorry we did not come to you last night, but Nerdanel..."
no subject
Gorlim just stares up at Namo as he holds them all together, two fathers and two children in their tight little bundle.
And in his eyes is such love, such absolute... worship. Namo is a hero in his eyes.
no subject
I did very little, love. Faramir discovered who it was. John showed me where he was. All I did was fetch him.
"Nerdanel is much relieved. She slept soundly last night, and she had him all morning and afternoon. She is doing very well. Everyone is all right, dove. Gabriel seems to adore his captors, who he calls hawk and crow, but he was happy to return him."
Gabriel continues to chatter at Kelly, always touching her, reconnecting with his family.
no subject
To Gorlim, no one else's actions matter. Namo is the hero of the hour as far as he's concerned. He holds the Vala with one arm and his daughter in the other and kisses his shoulder. "You are amazing."
no subject
"I did nothing..."
Gabriel laughs at his reddening father, pointing it out to Kelly.
Then Námo frowns. "Did you know the type of language our son has been taught?"

"Namo, I see your child has been returned. I'm glad." Giles remarked with a gentle smile.
no subject
"Yes. We are all very relieved. Surprised that it was the fairy, since I have no idea why a fairy would want a child..."

He tilts his head.
"Is that name familiar to you?"
no subject
"Indeed, a powerful being who is also known as the White Rider of the Dark. Though I've heard some rumors indicating that her powers have ben stripped from her finally."
no subject
"I find it strange Puck was trying to pass Gabriel off as her child."
