Here there be Tilda. Sitting by the fire with her usual shoulder-bag and some plain white paper, folding origami cranes and tossing them at the fireplace. Come bother her! She doesn't bite.

The creature tilts its head. Oh. Well then.

Bulbasaur pokes at a sheet of paper with one reptilian toe and then looks up at Matilda inquiringly. "Saur?"

She blinks at him a few times again.

"I think we've hit a communication gap. What is it you'd like to ask me about my origami paper?"

The waitrat returns with hot chocolate for both of them. She takes hers with a happy grin. "Mm, hot chocolate."

Yeah, the pokémon is pretty used to the language barrier - sometimes it seems like Pikachu is the only one around here who understands it.

A whip-like vine extends from the base of the bulb on the creature's back and grasps the handle of the second mug. Bulbasaur takes a slurp and ponders the best way to get its point across. Mmm. Chocolate.

It sets the mug down and another vine extends. Behold the marvels of pantomime! The vines point to the paper, then make motions meant to resemble folding. Bulbasaur taps its chest with one foot. "Saur?"

"Oh, you'd like to have some of my paper? Sure! Do you already know how to fold cranes, or would you like me to teach you?" She grins and passes him a sheet. "It's really very simple."

Bulbasaur looks pleased, and the vines flex for a moment before shooting into a lightening-quick, paper-folding blur. Moments later, there is an origami turtle. "Bulba!" the pokémon announces proudly.

She bursts into applause. "Fantastic!"

Then she gets a sneaky look on her face, and Looks at a sheet of paper. It lifts into the air and folds itself into a crane in under a second. Matilda giggles. "You're not the only one with speed-folding tricks, I'm afraid. I've never folded a turtle before, though. How'd you do it?"

It watches the floating paper for a second, then selects another piece from the pile. Bulbasaur seems to be getting used to the idea that there are psychic-type humans here, with more tricks up their sleeves than a level 100 Alakazam.

"Saur, bulba," it instructs, folding two of the opposite sides over so that they meet in the middle. "Bulba bulba," and the left-hand corners fold in... Bulbsaur glaces up to see if Matilda is following.

She has another sheet of paper in her hands and is copying him move for move, wearing an expression made of equal parts delight and interest.

Several complicated folds later, they each have a turtle. Bulbasaur prods the floating crane with a vine - it really is impressed, despite efforts not to show it. "Bulba bulbasaur, saur. Bulba?"

She blinks at the crane. "Oh, that." It's lying right where she dropped it after its floaty creation. She gives it another Look and it floats up into the air and does a small loop-the-loop. "I can move things with my eyes. Isn't it fun?"

"Saur, bulba," it agrees, watching the loop-de-loops. "Bulba bulbasaur saur, saur?" it asks, taking another piece of paper.

[OOC: Is slowtime okay? Time for me to go home.]

"Sure, go ahead and fold stuff. I don't mind. I have plenty of paper."
