Mary Anne's slumped in a booth, pouring shots from a bottle of tequila. She winces at the alcohol burn on her healing lower lip. Still, doesn't look like she's adverse to company.

Take a seat; she'll get you your own shotglass.

Well...mentally I went there, Josie said I stayed in bed for the whole time. About twenty-four. [Delia adds with a wince]

Despite having been told, the warmth is something of a (very pleasant) surprise.

She takes Delia's hand in hers, turning it over and leaning across the table to press a kiss to the back.

"However long, it's good to have you back."

[a soft smile]

It's good to be back. It's been a year, you know, since I killed myself.

A year.

Her teeth dig in to her lower lip.

"Dare I ask what they wanted you for in the Realms?"

She hasn't let go of Delia's hand yet.

[there is a brief shadow in her eyes]

I'm a traitor. I died for it, accepted it legally, but...I've been running from my death for a year. Pretending it never happened, in a way.

Partly, He wanted me back for some punishment - you do not escape the Dark God, no matter how much you run. But, also...I don't know. He is neither cruel nor kind, just Death. And I am His. I just...accepted that, and it made it all easier.

She will officially not be letting go of her hand any time soon.

"It's good to have you back," she repeats softly.

Even if they keep coming back, it's a little unsettling to have friends ending up in the realms of Death.

[Delia raises their linked hands, turns them, and kisses Mary Anne's figners]

I bargained, a year ago. I'm staying here until I was supposed to have died. Not leaving anytime soon.

She smiles.

"Also very good to hear."

Think you could put up with me for another few decades?

[Delia smiles back, crookedly]

"Oh, I'm sure I'll find away. Think you could stand me that long?"

[Delia's eyes are over-bright, and she's not really sure why]

I think so. I'm not used to this whole people sticking around business.

She laughs gently.

"I have a nasty habit of sticking around. You have to toss me out on my ass, and even then I'll only go kicking and screaming."

[amused]

Not doing that anytime soon, dearest.

[ooc: and I have to go...slowtime/wrap, whichever]

She grins.

"Glad to hear it. Kicking and screaming does take up so much effort."

Oh, but it can be fun, too.

"Hmm, suppose you're right. When you have the proper target."
