There is a large geisha in the bar.

No, really. Paper parasol and all.

Of course for some, it's not an unusual sight.

...fine, it's an unusual sight regardless.

Still, Lucy's in a somewhat good mood. Could be she's just cursed someone.

Could be she's just happy to be off the damn boat for a while.

It's a ... walking doll?

A big walking doll?

A very pretty doll. With a parasol an' everything!

The small blonde across the bar may be staring. It's not her fault, she's never seen a geisha before. She has the :o! face on.

She can be forgiven, because Lucy ain't really a geisha.

Steph is winked at. "Afternoon, ducky."

"Hello!" She waves, and then bounces over, trailing small fur-covered comets. Er, puppies. "I totally was staring, wasn't I? Um, oops?"

"No harm done." Lucy eyes the puppies with great eyeing. "You'll want to keep those away from me."

"I will?" Steph scoops Gheri up, since he's looking the most likely to start sniffing at Lucy's skirts. Gifr's preoccupied with the leg of a table, a couple of booths down. It's a fascinating leg. He's inspecting it very seriously. "How come?"

"Don't like dogs or wolves or other things of a canine nature."

She remains watching the animals very carefully. "And if I should feel cornered, I might be forced to defend myself."

"Oh!"

Gheri does not like being held. He's squirmy and licky at Steph's arms, craning towards this New Shiny Person with the attractive dangly hair-things. Lucky for all that Bat-training; Steph's strong. She takes a couple steps backwards anyway.

"I'll keep them safe," she promises, wide-eyed. "And you too. I wouldn't let them hurt anyone. They're nice really. They're only monsters on the outside."

"You do that, ducky."

And now, Steph gets a good once over.

Lucy sighs. Not one of hers.

"Where'd you get them from, anyway?"

Steph grins a little. "Well, my boyfriend went on this monster island thing, and they all got attacked by grown-ups of these, and so they killed Gheri and Gifr's parents. So he had to bring them home. But then he went and got bit by a werewolf, so I'm looking after them."

See, it all makes sense.

"Hmm. Didn't think they were any of His and they sure ain't any of mine." Lucy frowns.

"Your boyfriend's had a bit of bad luck it seems."

"Yeah. But we'll fix him. Any of whose, and what's yours?" She is Puzzled.

"Any of His. Yaweh. God. As for me, you can call me Lucy." She winks at Steph again.

Steph blinks for a second, processing this.

"... Your name isn't Adam, or anything, by any chance? I mean, apart from when it's Lucy?"

Lucy laughs.

"Nope, but you're not far off."

"I'm not sure whether that's totally awesome or totally scary," Steph says frankly, hugging Gheri a little closer. "So you're, like, the big bad guy? Only not a guy."

"Well now, that depends on who you believe."

"Well, who do you believe?" Steph asks, practically.

"I tend to believe what I've seen." Is the amused answer.

"...so, what have you seen?"

She perseveres!

"I have seen myself be unfairly maligned and persecuted." Lucy sighs dramatically.

"Also, Yaweh acting like a complete jackass."

"...Yahweh can be a jackass?"

Steph goes o_O!
