Cera's human-Slaylor is small. So she needs Cera to help out guarding the tree-cave.

So now there is a newly re-oranged tiny Triceratops marching acorrs the bar floor, with her still-purple jacket on, looking out for evil doers.

Relax, the bar is safe.

"Ah!"

Says Arithon, upon seeing the dinosaur,

"Cera, I am in need of information."

Cera stops smartly and lifts her head. "Well," she says. "I know lots of info-mation!"

He nods,

"You know exactly what I need to."

And he finds a place to settle down and talk to her,

"I need to know about dinosaurs. I am told that where I will be living for a time may have them. So I chose to come to the person who would know the most."

He's serious. Really. He is. Ath preserve.

"Oh!" says Cera. "Well. I know all about Diney-sores."

Except, actually, what one is. She's never quite figured out the concept of a catch-all term for the different peoples in her homeworld.

"I am certain of it."

He has paper and a pen,

"And I would hear all that you would say on the matter."

Oh, well. That's not fair, is it?

Cera looks up at him, stubbornly.

"What do you want to know?"

"I need to know anything that could be dangerous to a baby."

He informs her,

"As, well, I shall be watching one."

"Oh, well, diner-sores can be very very dangerous to babies!" says Cera. "There was one once when I was playing with Ducky and Spike and Petrie, that came right up and they were ever so scared. But I growled and charged it and scared it off and saved them all!"

This speech is, of course, acompanied by full dramatic re-enactment.

He watches her for a moment (someone, please, direct this man toward Wash!) and then nods and writes that down.

Yes, he has decided that she probably won't be much help. Can't bring himself to upset her, however,

"Ah. Thank you, then, Cera."

"You're welcome!" says Cera proudly. "I'm very glad to help. And if you need any more info-mation, I'll be right here!"

"You are very good at it, too."

Arithon says, and then he pauses,

"Do you know why As-yah is so small, now?"

"Is Asyar small, too?"

Cera has no idea what an As-yah is, either.

"My Slaylor's small too. She got hit by an Evil-Shrinker."

"As-yah is my name for Melaka. Mel."

He explains,

"It means purple flower, because of the color of her hair. What evil shrinker was this?"

"Ooooooh," Cera says, eyes wide. "It was a big ray-thing, she said. Evil Jeenyus tried to hurt her, but she's so tough it made her little instead. She's going to get better."

"Of course she is."

Because there is a part of Arithon that is convinced Slayers can do anything if they set their minds to it enough.

Cera agrees wholeheartedly on this one. "She killed a whole sharp-tooth, you know," she adds proudly.

"I do not know what those are."

He says after a moment, blinking.

"They're very very vicous and dangerous," Cera says. "More dangerous than Diney-sores. They eat Three-Horns and Spike-Tails and Long-Necks and this one tried to eat Mel, but she got mean back!"

"I have no doubts on that. She is very couragous."

He means that, too. Arithon has nothing but respect for Mel.

"She is!" says Cera. Assuming courageous means brave. "And she says I am, too!"

She's so proud.

"She has said it, it must be true."

Arithon responds, resisting the urge to pat her on the head.
