Standing, "Good Morning Mace." she offers a bow once on her feet. Her spirits do appear to be up.

"How are you feeling this morning?"

"Better" she says with confidence. Granted there are clearly bags under her eyes from not sleeping well and he may notice a scar on her arm that hadn't been there before which still wierds her out a bit.

"Did you get hurt?" The usual low, slight tone of concern...

"Yes." she frowns at the scar, "It was of my own doing. What trobles me is that the wound didn't heal properly."

"Maybe it is supposed to stay, as a reminder?"

"Perhaps." tilting her head but more practically, "Or perhaps it's the curse." looking back up at him, "I was bit by a werewolf." she was concerned about becoming a werewolf because of the scar but with the full moon last night and her not changing she is relieved and has forgotten that nonsense.

"A werewolf?" He has no idea what that is...

She didn't realize this, "Yes. A cursed person that transforms into a large wolf creature that hunts at the rise of the full moon."

"It was a full moon last night. Did you?"

"Fortunately No. I am fine but it seems that the curse kept the wound from healing correctly." this isn't soemthing she has heard of before but she will go with the flow.

"Maybe it is just conflicting with your own accelerated healing."

"Perhaps." she agrees. "Different energies that weren't ment to mix are doing so."

"In any case, you should watch it carefully, for any changes..."

Amanda nods, "I intend to." this is new treeitory and she does intend to try and find a way to get rid of it.

"How have you been?"

"I have been well. Keeping myself busy." All work and no fun...

"How is your book coming along." it's been a while since she has gotten any more material.

"It is nearly complete..." After all, he had a lot of time.

And has alot of time. There is no need to rush, "That's wonderful." happy for her friend. She motions for them to have a seat on the grass.

Sit down he does, comfortable in asian style. "I imagine what I can do after I am finished."

She considers, "Anything you desire I would imagine. Suppose the question is what would you like to do?"

"A question I did not need to answer before. I always had plenty to fill my time..."

Amanda just nods. Understanding the predicament.

Ah, yes... the haunting notion of not having a purpose. Just Mace is more pragmatic about it, and does not get gloomy over the idea.

With Amanda it comes and goes. Mostly goes but somehow being around Mace the feeling becomes more predominate. Wanting to be better then she is for him. She knows that he doesn't expect it of her and that he accepts her for who she is but something about his mere presence makes her feel as though she isn't good enough.

"Good is a relative term; there is no such thing as abslute good, or perfection, there is the constant work for self-improvement." As often, catching her line of thought without having to read her mind. "When I meet someone who seems to me to be further ahead in the path of enlightement, I find it refreshing and inspiring, since it means I still have more roads to walk."

"That's not me." she says plainly, "Or at least it wasn't. Still not sure if it is. I liked my life. It was carefree and fun. Enlightnement was for those like Duncan and Darius."

"We all can lift ourselves out of ignorance, we all can find ourselves as creatures of excellence and intelligence and skill. Enlightement is not an exotic code of conduct or cryptic knowledge. There is no need to give up joy."

So speaks the 54 yr old celibatary monk.

Hmm yes and that is a pity. So many women who haven't been able to show him the pleasures of the flesh.

With a sigh, "That I understand. But things were so much simpler then." smiling though, "But then if 1200 years of life has taught me it's that there is no going back. Time moves forward and what's done is done. Nothing to do but move forward." yes starting to feel more like her old self.

"But it does not mean you have to do again what you did in the past, or how you did in the past."

"No. That is the beauty of the moment. Each moment is a choice. A change to chose our path. After all a path is made up of many individual steps the direction of which may change at anytime."

"And many people feel comfortable with a stable axis to hold them from straying too far."

Amanda laughs, "I think I lost that sometime ago." it amazes her how the last year fells almost as long as the whole rest of her life.

"You can set another." And yes, she can, if she wants.

Nodding, "In time I will. First I think I'd like to figure out what I would like it to be."

"You can also decide what you do -not- wnat to be."

Nodding, "Yes there is that."

"As you remember, time moves on, and as it moves, it opens doors."

"And I look forwward to seeing where these new ones take me. I certainly don't mind the one that opened for me a year ago. I'm glad that I have met so many wonderful people and look forward to meeting many more."

"That is very good." He nods, almost smiling.

It may not be his style but Amanda embraces him in a hug nonetheless giving him a kiss onthe forehead.

Mace blinks... well, he returns the hug, some. Close contact is not something he is used with.

Letting go of him. THe tone changes a bit, "Would you care to join me for some meditation?"

"I would be honored to."
