Elizabeth Weir is in a far better mood than she has been since she found herself bound in Milliways.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's a lovely day outside.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she didn't even think to try the main door today, to go back to her world.

Or maybe it's that she's on her third candy bar.

The options are many; the answers are few.

At any rate, she finds herself a barstool, breaking off a piece of chocolate from her newest bar and popping it into her mouth before ordering a root beer.

"[I don't have a chance to do it very often.]"

Switching back to English, "Most of the time I'm translating Latin or arguing in English. It's nice to have the change of pace sometimes."

Curiously: "Latin--are you a scholar?"

"I hope so, for as much time as I spent in school in my time. My background is in anthropology and cultural studies."

"I see."

He sort of does; culture and studies, Inigo can grasp fairly easily--'anthropology' is a bit more troublesome.

Weir doesn't help Inigo out much with an explanation, even if she does recognize the look on his face as one of not-quite-comprehension.

"How about yourself? Are you a...oh, you could be just about anything with a sword."

He smiles, confident and cocky once more.

"Indeed, I have been several. But these days, I am a pirate."

The way he says it, she's clearly meant to be impressed.

Clearly.

"Never met a pirate before," Elizabeth admits, putting on her best shamed face. "'These days'. Does one apply to be a pirate or something?"
