(no subject)

Elizabeth Weir is in a far better mood than she has been since she found herself bound in Milliways.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's a lovely day outside.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she didn't even think to try the main door today, to go back to her world.

Or maybe it's that she's on her third candy bar.

The options are many; the answers are few.

At any rate, she finds herself a barstool, breaking off a piece of chocolate from her newest bar and popping it into her mouth before ordering a root beer.

Sheppard's not feeling entirely mature himself anymore. In a way, it's nice-easier to relax this way, even with say, Wraith wandering around the bar.

"Hey, it fits, right? Nothing's killed me a hundred percent yet...besides that one universe with the alternate you. Does that even count?"

"I meant the one with the old-you we found. You hallucinated me?"

He pauses, considering this. "Huh."

Sheppard holds back a snort of laughter-just barely-at her first comment. Then he raises an eyebrow, looking curious. "Who says I don't?"

"Hey, I'm interested. It's not like people hallucinate me everyday. ...At least I'm pretty sure they don't."

"...No? You hallucinate some weird stuf...but that's probably kinda expected, because y'know. Nanites."

"That got, through? I'd read...somewhere about people being able to hear things in comas and stuff, but I didn't know if it was going to work."

He looks thoughtful for a moment. "That's probably what made you hallucinate me." It makes more sense to him than a random hallucination, anyway.

Sheppard shrugs. "Makes sense to me." For the moment, he seems content to not press her on why she said 'maybe'.

And Sheppard can't help but notice that. He smirks a little again, giving her a curious look. "...What'd the bar give you, besides chocolate?"

"It's not suicide-we're not guaranteed to be dead. It's just...kinda likely. And we've beaten the 'kinda likely to be dead' odds before, right?"

Well, it's not wordy, but it's an agreement of sorts.

After a moment, he asks, "Comfy?"

This is definitely very un-Elizabeth-ish. But Sheppard can't complain, really.

"So now I'm a Bound member of a suicide mission and a pillow. Cool."

That gets a chuckle out of him as he accepts the piece of candy. Even with a Wraith wandering around the bar and being Bound, it seems like things might be looking up.
