Her Halloween costume was subtle, just a shift in clothing really. Her mother's costume, from an unfortunate time known as the Dark Phoenix arc...
She hasn't even noticed.
So, venturing inside from the lake, stray flames still licking in her hair, Rachel sits carefully at the Bar and is giving a black folder and her usual cup of broth. Full of numbers apparently...
Yes, she's completely and utterly lost, maybe the numbers make sense sideways or something...

Yes, she's completely and utterly lost, maybe the numbers make sense sideways or something...

And staring.
Yep.
But, remembering what day this is, a slender mental probe slides her way... tentatively poking to see if this is who it looks like and the Bar has just acquired a new Doom.
no subject
She does look up though, emerald eyes burning in curiousity.
::You know, there aer better ways to say hello:: she teased.
no subject
::Bar is up to her suaual tricks.::
He acquires a mirror as he goes. He hands it to Rachel when he arrives at her side.
::I just wanted to be sure...last time I met her, on Earth 736, it didnt go well.::
Love and warmth and acceptance lap from him around her.

It was a darker, black laced red though. She noted that. Not too different from standard fair ::I don't look like her::
Then she grinned and ruffled his hair "First day officially back in and I'm drowning in numbers::
[Sorries, been running and out]
no subject
"Drowning in numbers? What do they measure?"
Numbers usually meant lives to Nathan, well, mostly when he was Cable.
(No Worries. I have been out a few times myself. Wheeeeee!)
no subject
Which was a good reason Rachel had no idea what they were.
no subject
"No notes anywhere on what it is supposed to be for?"
He eyes Bar.
"What is she up to this time..."
Then he grins.
"It is good to see you, Rachel. Very good."
no subject
"And people keep saying that..." she mused, poking him again. "Good news is I'm not leaving again"
no subject
Then he grins.
"That is because you are loved, little sister."
He raises an eyebrow.
"At all?"
Worry colored his mood now.
no subject
"And...no. I want to stay, I've finished with what is needed beyond...so unless others here need my help....I'm home"
no subject
"Good, because I have missed you."
A flicker of that passes across his face, then he smiles.
"Can I get you anything? Animal Crackers?"
He pulled one out of the air.
no subject
"I think I'm getting my own room by the way...It's time."
no subject
"I would say about time and past, but... I have rather enjoyed having you around."
When you were here...
His shields tighten slightly and he nods.
"Going to have a roomwarming?"
no subject
It didn't matter. Her shields were tighter than all but one person she knew of.
"No. I don't think so. It'll be...mine. Quiet, peaceful, untainted...? by other psyches..."
no subject
"I hope it gives you what you need, Rachel."
He smiles faintly, then pokes her again.
"It is good to have you home again..."
His grin is wide, and the relief undiluted.
no subject
"Has life benn treating you well? How's your lady friend?"
no subject
::Someday, if you are ever willing or ready, I will be there, to help if I can::
Then he went on aloud.
"Things are chaotic back oin Earth, but, things are as well as can be with me. And Alice is wonderful."
His eyes almost glow with that sentiment as well.
no subject
"Glad to hear it, though somehow I manage not be suprised about earth" she sighed, rubbing her forehead "It screams, doesn't it?"
no subject
"Yeah. Enough to make Providence even no so restful. I would invite you back to visit, but there arent enough dampeners in the world."
He shivers.
"These are the days that I am glad Strufe isnt around. He would input the Lucife option faster than I could think. And I am not sure anyone could stop him either."
His mind plays out that scenario; his twisted relection setting into motion the device which would rob humanity of it's individuality.
"Anyway... things here have been more quiet of late. Which is nice."
no subject
What they did.
"Rest."
no subject
"Yeah."
"Rest is nice, sometimes. Rest and friends."
He nods.
"This place is good at both."
no subject
Then she chuckled, standing and tapping the Bar. "I think I have things to do dear..."
no subject
"I will see you later."
Then he is moving away himself, a brush of his mind sending her one more burst of love and warmth, before he vanishes into the crowd.
