And Angel's in the bar.
Not dressed up, in deference to the holiday - Bar's still letting him get away with that, it seems.
And he's got his notebook. More thoughtful expression than anything, but, well, some things merit writing down.
Last night, I had a dream.
Company wouldn't be turned down.

"Hey." There is Sara, also looking thoughtful.

"Hey. How're you?"

"All right. Had some strange dreams. You?"

"...You too? Must be the latest Milliways thing."

"Must be. So did Mark and Gil." She takes a seat.

[the_antiangst]

"...Gotta love this place sometimes."
But Angel doesn't really sound all that upset.

[lvpd_sidle]

"Yeah." Beat. "Made cinnamon buns with my mother. And talked to Barry."

[the_antiangst]

"I... didn't have an argument with my grandmother. It was good."

[lvpd_sidle]

"Stubborness runs in your family?"

[the_antiangst]

"Got it from her. I think we at least reached an understanding, though."

[lvpd_sidle]

"Better late than never." A slight smile. "Barry...said he was happy for me. And for Mark."

[the_antiangst]

"See no reason why he wouldn't be. You're quite happy with each other, after all."
And there's no decade-old argument in the way.

[lvpd_sidle]

"I knew he would be. But I guess I wanted to hear it."

[the_antiangst]

"That can help, yeah."

[lvpd_sidle]

"Yeah. And it was nice to have a quiet moment with my mother, back home."

[the_antiangst]

"I'm glad you had the chance, honey."

[lvpd_sidle]

"Me too. I think I might dig out her recipe for cinnamon buns later and make some."

[the_antiangst]

Angel grins. "If you have extras, I'll help."

[lvpd_sidle]

She laughs. "Like I'd make any and not share them. Though if you want to help, feel free. I can guarantee you'll get them fresh from the oven."

[the_antiangst]

"Best way to have 'em."

[lvpd_sidle]

"Oh yeah. And they're much better than store brands but I might be biased."

[the_antiangst]

"It's a fair bias. Not even Bar does Cuban food quite like my grandmother's, though it's the closest I've found."

[lvpd_sidle]

"Cuban food is good. I prefer that to Mexican, but it's pretty hard to find."

[the_antiangst]

"I was never at a lack, at least till I moved out. And there are Cuban restaurants in New York if you know where to look."

[lvpd_sidle]

"There's one decent one I found in Vegas but it's operating hours don't coincide with my schedule most of the time." The lab personnel live on Chinese.

[the_antiangst]

"Yeah, that would be a slight problem. When you get to New York, I can give you an idea of where to look, at least. The really good place is probably still in business, for all it lurks well."
The people who need to know know where to find it.
