Ace is curled up in front of the fire after a long day out in the snow outside. She's stayed off the mountains (for now), not entirely sure what the unexpected snowy peaks are there for. However, Magic still loves chasing snowballs as much as she did last year, and the two of them wore themselves out thoroughly. So now Ace is warming up with a mug of cocoa and a heavy-bound book, and Magic is... somewhere. Probably trying to make off with someone's dinner.

As it is chocolate chip and smells vaguely of both baked goods and clay, the culprit was probably Raven.
Is probably Raven, as well, since a second cookie follows hard on the heels of hte first.

"You are not hungry, perhaps?"
Woe.

"If you are choking, I will yank the cookie back out of your throat, yes? It is not so easy to die from that, I think."
Not with Raven around!
Raven blinks.
"Also I did not thinking stuffing was done in the mouth, yes?"

"Liver, I think, is not so spreadable. Though it is very slippery."
And tasty.
When eaten whole.

Eyeballs she can deal with.
And geckos.
Internal organs go squish.

"Likely you have not seen the cousins eating, perhaps."
no subject
Just in case.
Raven is odd, sometimes.
Often.
...
All the time.

"Best, perhaps, to avoid wolves, then."
Ravens have a lot of dealings with wolves--and rarely the bad kind.

"It was, I think, not so much a joke."
Really.

Ace is a veritable zoo.

"Then that, too, I think, is a thing that works very well."
He hugs her then.
Envelops is probably a better word.
If we're being strictly honest.
Or 'smothers'.

Then there is a problem with breathing.
And the fact that she can't.
"MRRRF!" She complains again, smacking him hard.

A little.
She can probably breathe now, at least.
That's good, right?

She settles down after that, since breathing is what she was most worried about there. It's the little things in life you have to be careful of.
Now she's snuggling more than struggling. Hugs are good.

"You have, perhaps, been busy of late?"
no subject
"Wash's come home."
Yeah, that'd be the very very happy grin.

"I am very glad for that, I think. You have missed him, have you not?"
no subject
no subject
"And more than laugh, I am thinking. It is difficult to miss people."

But he does not say that, just tucks her more tightly against his side, and wrinkles his nose.
"But he is back, so."

"The ranting would not help much, I do not think. Also she might pout."
The pout of Death is a terrifying thing, perhaps.

Raven shrugs.
"But it is a thing that happens, so."
He hugs her again, anyway.
"This time, however, is different. So it is no bad thing."

Raven leans back.
He has, perhaps, missed this Ace.
She is hurting so often, of late. It is . . . nice, and more than, to see it stop for a bit.
So.
