Hiro has -- made himself comfortable. Sure, by doing so he fell asleep in a boothe, but-- still. The guy's had a long (confusing, squee-filled) day. Still, he woke up to the bustling of bar and began to stumble about, realizing:

He has only the vaguest idea of where he is.
He has no idea how to leave, because he can't seem to find a door out that doesn't lead to SCOTLAND, or it's equivalent.
He needs a shower.
He's famished and this place has the best waffles on God's green earth-- or, well, the multiverse.

He's decided to pursue problem 4 -- one and two will sort themselves out but waffles wait for no one. No one.

Though, he does wish Ando were here. It's probably make communication easier. His english drastically improved... what with six months with his prettier teacher... but... Miscommunication is bound to happen. Ando would fix that. Ando's English is EXCELLENT. (Because of the American porn!)

For now? Waffles.

"Tofu?" he knows that word! "Tofu is GOOD for you!" Why would it be bad here? Is this some strange American prejudice against bean curd?

"Well, yeah, I guess." April shrugs. "I don't like it much. Plus it wasn't exactly normal tofu..." she makes a face. "It was turning people into yuppies. Erm... really mean idiotic people," she ammends, just in case he doesn't know the slang.

"Yuppies?" He blinks and-- oh. "Uhm. Bad tofu!" He nods at that; things that transform people into idiots are generally bad.

April giggles. "Yes, bad tofu. We fixed it, though, no worries." She offers her hands. "I'm April, by the way."

"I'm Hiro! Hiro Nakamura!" And there is beaming and a very warm handshake. "I am NEW."

Since everyone seems to be telling him that he is.

"Nice to meet you!" April grins. "What do you think of Milliways so far?"

"Sugoi!" he blurts-- and then grins. "I like it very much!"

April can't help but laugh brightly.

He's just so darn cute!

"So where are you from, Hiro?"

"Tokyo!" He pauses, and then adds, "2006?" Because, you know, timeframe might be important. These people all seem to be different worlds and times, so...

April grins. "Cool! I'm from New York City, 1995." And she's dead. But we won't mention that - it's hard enough to explain it to people who speak English as a first language...

"...1995?" Wow, that... years into his past. He was still in school! Marvel wasn't putting out total trash for comics (well, okay, debatable)...

She grins at his expession. "You were still a kid, huh?"

He gives her a look; he was not that young! He was... well, okay, he was younger, but still. He clucks his tongue, and then says, "Was thinking of-- Age of Apocalypse storyarc!"

...yeah, seriously.

April just blinks.

"Okay?"

He shakes his head.

"Forget it."

She can't share his geekfu.

Not on this subject, no. Get her on Star Wars and she's a maniac, though.

"So, where were you supposed to be?" April asks curiously. "When you ended up here, I mean."

"Rest stoppu in... Texas."
