Aww, isn't it cute? Such an adorable little kitty puppet, lying masterless on the bar.

Yrael's just hoping to sleep through this most recent embarrassment.

Try to stick your hand up his butt and he will hurt you. ~~Rules be damned.~~

Chao passes by the kitty puppet and grins, silently, to himself. He isn't going to disturb the poor kitty puppet's sleep; kitty puppet has enough problems.

"Bar?" he whispers. "Get Yrael a glass of milk when he wakes up, on me? Thank you."

"So very kind, Chao," says the kitty puppet, tilting its head to look at the pigpuppet.

"No problem," laughs Chao. "I love the innocent look. You'll have the whole bar feeding you in no time."

"Let us hope. Perhaps good food shall do something to salvage the day."

"I'm having a lovely day." Chao examines Yrael through his tiny button eyes. "And you should be too. With a face like that, you could probably conquer the universe."

Yrael tilts his head. Cutely.

He can't help it.

"Do you think so?"

He might try it.

"You could get an army of puppet minions!" Chao adds hastily, "I'm not volunteering."

"I'm instating the draft," he says, sounding as though he'd be smiling, if the puppet-form would let him.

"How are you going to enforce it?" The pig-puppet looks very curious. "Using the power of pure cute?"

"Yes. Never underestimate the power of the cuteness."

"Oh, I wouldn't. Cute is one of the great powers of the multiverse, right up there with the ability to produce chocolate."

"Possibly surpassing the power of making marshmallows, I should imagine."

"Marshmallows aren't really that powerful. There are other foods with more sugar and other substances that are stronger adhesives. If you're trying to communicate with an unfamiliar species, leave the marshmallows at home and bring the chocolate."

"I will keep that in mind, when I am not... a puppet."

The problem with being a puppet is that it is very hard to pounce.

So instead there is a light poke to a puppetpig ear.

"Do you think that chocolate would be a bad idea right now, with us both in the situation we are in?"

"Not a bad idea at all. I approve. Bar, could we have some chocolate? The good stuff, please." Bar presents two large bars of Scharffen Berger 70% Cacao, from a place and time before Scharffen Berger was purchased by Hershey. "Thanks. Mind unwrapping it and breaking it into pieces for us?" Bar obliges, and Chao lifts one of the pieces to his snout happily.

"Ah, Bar, savior to all who shelter within Her house," Yrael says, and would be smiling if he could.

"Mmm," he says around a bite of chocolate that he somehow got into his mouth.

There is chocolate on the plush fur at the corner of his mouth.

"We're lucky to have her. Thank you," says Chao, tossing the bar ten American dollars from the twenty-second century.

The two puppets settle down to the serious business of eating. Everything, they agree, is better with chocolate.
