Parker saunters into the bar and pauses to press a white napkin against his lip.
It's only bleeding a little. The guy had been wearing a football ring when he punched him. Parker sits with a sigh. Might as well stick around, since he's here.

"Yeah. Briefly, I deserved it. Unlike you who always deserves it."
no subject
He shrugs. "What does it matter whether someone deserves something briefly or forever? Can't change the past. At that instant, you were as bad as me."
no subject
Lazily, he leans back in his chair.
"I'm never as bad as you."
no subject
"What makes you so much better Mr Parker?"
no subject
"I'm not a born asshole."
no subject
He shakes his head with a smirk.
"Amusing as it is just to sit and watch you bleed, that's not in fact what I came over here for."
no subject
"Why did you come over?"
no subject

"Well, you're doing a bang up job so far."

"Because I discovered I cared about someone who I would have tossed aside as a wimp a few months ago. And not because they were family or I wanted them in my bed."
He leans forward. "So I don't want him to have to feel he has to mediate between his friend and his lover."

A familiar voice, a familiar face. She's in a bikini, although for the sake of some modesty she's also wrapped in a towel.
And she doesn't look particularly happy.

"Fire."

There's a lighter in her right hand. She's playing with it, turning it over and over in her fingers.
no subject
"Did he."
no subject
Flick goes the lighter in her palm.
"Funny, that."
no subject
Parker glances over at her. "You're his sister. He likes you."
no subject
She narrows her eyes.
"See, I thought Jack had more sense then that."
no subject
"What can I say?" he shrugs. "We're just two crazy kids in love."
no subject
She shakes her head.
"No, see, Jack fits that description...but you? I don't think so, Parker, and I think that nothing good will come of this."
no subject
He ticks off his fingers, "You know what I look like, and you know I'm bleeding, and you know what I'd do to keep Jack safe."
He sneers. "Don't tell me that you think I don't fit that description."
no subject
She spreads her hands wide. "Then can you tell me that you're not going to hurt him? That you're not going to fuck him over and leave him?"
no subject
It's not a no.
