His wife is due to have a baby any day now, and he's on duty. He's allowed to be antsy. His hand rests on the hilt of an ancient but still deadly looking sword, his Security badge clipped next to it.
Twitchy people are trouble enough. Twitchy men with swords tend to be more so. Krauser glances at the posture and then resumes minding his own business, to a greater degree.
On another night, he'd sort of mildly chat with security, but right now it doesn't seem like a good idea.
He's not twitchy in the 'looking for a fight, ready to jump at every shadow' sort of way. He's just restless, more or less. The hilt of his sword is merely a handy place to rest his hand. He hasn't had to use it except for in practice for a long time. HIs face is friendly enough, if a little distracted.
Makita's a bit antsy herself, though for rather different reasons. Being unarmed is still sort of a new (and not so pleasant) experience for her. She hasn't talked to Archie in a while, and she figures she might as well kill two birds with one stone: talk to Archie and sit near someone from Security. Just in case, you know.
Archie gives a little half-bow back. Polite, deferential, courtly. It should look a little odd in the jeans and button down shirt he's wearing, but somehow it doesn't.
Lan has gotten used to seeing clothing such as that, in his time here; it seems to be the preferred dress of many. The half-bow wouldn't necessarily look incongruous to him anyway.
In any case, it doesn't, and they're near enough for Lan to add "Peace and the Light favor you" at a comfortable volume.

She's having fun sitting under a table and talking to a couple of the waitrats.

"Hello miss, are you having fun under there?"
no subject
He gets a big grin in response. "Uh-huh. The rats are very friendly."
no subject
He wonders if his daughter will like to play under the tables once she's old enough. He thinks it's pretty likely.

Brennan glances up from the skull (the interior of which she is examining with a small flashlight) at the agitated officer.
All told, he seems to be in better shape than he was the last time she saw him.
"Mr. Kennedy? Are you alright?"
She assumes he will remember who she is. And if he doesn't, she'll simply introduce herself again.
no subject
"Miss Brennan, I am, thank you. Er... is that what I think it is?"
no subject
"The answer to that will largely depend on what you think it is," she adds.
Coming from anyone else, it might be sarcasm. From Brennan it is simply a statement of logic.
no subject
He smiles, it's all in the tone.
"It would seem to be a human skull, but it looks less like you're about ready to start reciting Hamlet than I would be."

He greets her with a smile.

"What's making you nervous then?"
Because he's the head of Security, and it's his job to keep people safe, especially his friends.

But when Monk spies Archie, he recognizes the description someone was nice enough to give him that other day!
Best to be straightfoward with things, right?
"Are you Mr. Kennedy?"
no subject
"I am indeed. How can I help you, sir?"
The face is familliar, but it's obvious they'e never spoken.
no subject
"I'm Detective Adrian Monk. I'd like to take up a job with the bar's security."
no subject
He grins, he's never had anyone ask him in so many words.
"May I ask why? It seems you have a position elsewhere."
