Ah so, here is the recovering alcoholic hippie, in the bar, at a booth, with real food. Yeah, totally. He's eating it very, very slowly, but he does have what appears to be a ham sandwich. And tea.

And a really big, really old book, compliments of ~~Nearly Wristless Rod~~ Roderick Usher.

He is also playing with a spoon, twirling it in one hand lazily.

Please annoy.

Gavroche grins.

"It is, isn't it?"

"Totally," Miniver says. "Okay. Wait, whose world are you really from?"

"...mine", is all Gavroche can offer in answer to that. "But I live in Door's world now. London Below."

"So not like, Tom's world or anything? Does yours have magic?"

"Not that I ever saw when I was there. I got the wizardry after I came here."

"From who?" Miniver asks a lot of questions. "Cuz," eyedart eyedart, "so did I."

"Rabbit", Gavroche tells him. "It's the same kind as Nita, if you know her."

He gives Miniver a slightly dubious look, because Miniver is far too old to gain the same kind of wizardry he has, by canonical rules.

"I don't know them. I think I have Tom's kind of magic, but I can't use it. Except the enchanted quill. That works." GRIN.

"How'd that happen?" Gavroche asks curiously. "I thought you had to be born with it."

And so did the mun.

"Wish ring." Miniver shrugs. It was very clever, really. "He wished I'd been born with it."

"Oh." Gavroche grins. "Nice thing to do, if you wanted it."

And who wouldn't, really?

"Draco's nicer than most people figure him to be," Miniver says.

Most of Miniver's mun's other pups wouldn't want it. It is a thing. Miniver is, perhaps, not as smart as they are.

"I don't know him very well", Gavroche admits. Their paths have crossed once or twice, probably, since they live in the same House.

"He does research or something. I don't really know about what. He wouldn't tell me. All very secret and whatnot."

Gavroche nods. "Maybe he'll tell you more now you're a wizard too."

"I think that's really just a technicality. I can't do anything. I haven't even got a wand. I only know one spell. It makes feathers hover on top of tables."

But really, that is enough to keep him fascinated enough with the state of the world that he stays away from the alcohol.

Gavroche blinks.

"But... you can get a wand and learn more spells, can't you?"

"Yeah. Still, that's not really a fantastic reason for him to let me in on what's probably Tom's business. However much I'd like to know." He winks.

"Depends what it is", Gavroche says with a shrug.

"I guess. But I've never met tom. I met his sister-in-law. Is he nice?"

"Oh, you met Ingress?" He grins. "Yeah, he is."

"Yep. Blue hair. Totally awesome." For someone who never really had anything to do with children prior to coming here, Miniver certainly seems to get along with them well. "I'd like to meet Tom. Does he ever come here?"

"He does sometimes. When he's not working."

"D'you work?"

"In a way. Not the same way, there's just sometimes things I have to do."
