Ah so, here is the recovering alcoholic hippie, in the bar, at a booth, with real food. Yeah, totally. He's eating it very, very slowly, but he does have what appears to be a ham sandwich. And tea.

And a really big, really old book, compliments of ~~Nearly Wristless Rod~~ Roderick Usher.

He is also playing with a spoon, twirling it in one hand lazily.

Please annoy.

Long stare.

Finally,

"Hard not to, when he was my father, doncha think?"

"Oh, shi--" Miniver promptly falls off his chair.

Well, he's never had that reaction so far, so he snorts.

"You're Mordred," Miniver says. "Jeeze. Random told me you were here but... jeeze."

"Hi. And you are...?"

"Oh. Sorry. Miniver Cheevy." He scrambles back to his seat. "Of not-famous-at-all and having-nothing-to-do-with-anyone-you-knew-when-you-were-alive fame." Heh heh...

"An excellent way to be. Being famous is overrated."

"Is it? Why? Oh, because people fall off things when they find out who you are?"

"That was actually fun. No, it's more...they think they know you, and what you've done and why."

Miniver possibly eyedarts a little.

"I take it you disagree."

"Well, I do."

"You don't think that by knowing what you did, some people don't understand why?"

"Most people adore King Arthur."

That's a 'no', Cheevy.

"Then why'd you do it if not so people would understand?"

"Because I was tired of my friends dying for no reason. And hate's a fairly powerful motivator, too. I didn't care, then, what people thought."

Just his father.

"Well okay. Maybe I don't know anything about anything, but can I ask you -- was it worth it?"

He looks away.

Finally,

"No. But I don't know what else I could have done."

"Hindsight is everything. Nevertheless... What do you do now? That's the important thing."
