The World's Greatest Reporter is in the Bar! (Well. the coffee mug that Bar gave Knox today says "World's Greatest Reporter" and if it's on a mug in Milliways, it must be true.)
Knox has a pile of newspapers open to various articles about an upcoming election in Gotham. But it's not like he needs to read all of them immediately, so feel free to come over and say hello.

Chloe gives him a look as she slides into a seat across from him, eying the mug skeptically. World's greatest reporter? Riiiight.
That's so going to be her someday, obviously.

"How's it going, Sullivan?"
no subject
"Anyway, point is, I'm working there before I'm even out of college and if anyone has the makings to be the world's greatest reporter, it's definately the girl working for the right paper."
Grin! "It's going fine. You, Knox?"
no subject
"I'm busy. Moving soon, and trying to keep up with the mayoral election. And trying to find something new to say.
"Oh, and I met a friend of yours. And mine, sort of."

"Seems nice enough, though. Any chance he'll follow in his own footsteps and yours, or is he really going to stay on the farm?"

"But not everyone knows what they want to do in high school. Only the world's greatest reporters." He smirks at her.

Then he saw the man that was reading them. "Good morning." He's really just curious as to why the man has so many newspapers.

[ooc: just to be clear, does Sinister look like his icon, and should Knox notice?]
no subject
"Pardon the interruption. I was just wodnering why you have so many newspapers." He motions toward the table with the hand that isn't carrying a notebook and pencil.

"It's election time at home, and I'm trying to find a new angle to write about it. See, I'm a columnist, and I don't want to say the same things everyone else does."

"Alex Knox, Gotham City, 1990." He hesitates but extends his hands.
no subject
Because he wasn't going to say where in America to anyone.

That didn't mean she didn't spare time from her scanning to lean against his shoulder in an abbreviated hug.

"You're in a good mood though...tell me?"
no subject
"Well, I'm now the owner of my very own co-op, just across the border form Gotham in Bristol. Should be moving in about a month. I suppose I owe this to you and your money, but fact is, I could have afforded it - or at least a mortgage. I guess I just needed the focus.
"Kita's helping me pack, by the way. As a 'job'. I'm paying her, and that way she can afford clothes here." He sounds proud of this approach to helping Kita.
"Oh, and it's election time at home. Ever wanted to learn about Gotham at its most venal? Now's the time!"
no subject
"You don't owe it to anyone but yourself, Alex." she chuckled softly "The decision to actually do something is always your own."
At the news about Makita she couldn't help but grin though "Good! I...hadn't thought about her clothes" she admitted, a bit chagrined. It felt back into that 'it's Rachel' bit. Clothing wasn't a priority with her.
"This is a bunch of name calling and sly hints" Rachel noted, putting the paper down. "How does anything actually get done?"
no subject
"How does anything get done. Rachel, if I know the answer to that, I'd run for mayor myself. Gotham is a pretty dysfunctional city. Has been since World War II, maybe earlier. But once the election is over, the name calling isn't so bad. And the frontrunner, this guy here Hill, might do okay.
"If he doesn't caught with his hand in the cookie jar."
no subject
"There has to be people who ignore everything and work the important parts while people are raging over elections" she mused, though she did poke his side "There could be worse mayors." she was probably teasing on that part. She liked Knox as he was, a keen minded reporter and good man.
"Cookie jar?"
no subject
"Cookie jar is a figure of speech. When kids are caught with their fingers in the cookie jar, it means that Mommy caught them trying to take dessert without permission. So when a mayor or what have you tries to take something he or she shouldn't have, it's called that."
