[OOM: In Smallville, Clark isn't having much fun.]
Clark doesn't hang around the main bar very long when he enters - too loud today - and heads outside, walking along the lake shore. He can still hear just about everything that's going on, right down to the rustle of demon bunnies in the forest, but at least out here the conversations emanating from the bar overlap enough that it's more a background buzz.
It's preferable to a hundred mooing cows, at any rate.
He stops a fair distance away from the main building and picks up a few rocks, casually tossing them into the water. Occasionally, he actually puts a tiny bit of effort into it and a few land clear on the opposite shore.

But then he doesn't see the lass. No, he sees a young man doing this. Surprise now registers. But it's mild surprise. This is Milliways, after all.
"Careful, lad, some of us live out here," he calls out.
no subject
"Sorry, sir," he calls back, automatically returning to simply tossing the few he has left to just a few feet out in front of him. "I didn't think anyone would notice."

He doesn't.
"I guess I didn't realize how close they were getting," he offers apologetically. "And I didn't mean any offense."

"Just trying to relax, mostly, and I'd rather not wake anything." He possibly should have paid a bit more attention to what was under the water. "What sort of beastie are we talking about, anyway?"

He makes his way down toward the lake shore, mug of coffee in one hand and trying fruitlessly to pat down his hair with the other, and he plunks down on a rock, watching the pirate ship bob on the lake.
Riley has zombie-like tunnel vision when he's just woken up. Eventually, he may notice the splashes and the familiar figure a ways away, but for now? Mmmmm coffee.
[OOC: Will have to run to class soon, but I wanted to get this in before I do. I'll tag a few times, then is slowtime til tonight okay?]

The rocks are abandoned and he sighs heavily. Might as well get this over with. "We need to talk," he says plainly, and loud enough for Riley to hear.
((OOC: No problem!))

"Whatever she told you about me? You don't mention to anyone else. Ever. Not here, not in your world, not when you're in Smallville for Thanksgiving," Clark frowns at that. Much as he'd like to rescind Chloe's invitation, he won't.

"Did she tell you that if certain people show up here and they think you even have the slightest bit of information about me, your life could be at risk?"

After a minute, "If you have any questions, now would be a good time to ask them."

He's looking over the lake from afar. Relaxing Lex takes a peek around the shores and sees a figure remarkably similar to Clark kent's. Heturns for a second and slowly has another look, but he's still there.
Lex gets up and goes to stand behind Clark.
"You know, if you want the rocks to skid across the water you flex your hand first..."
no subject
His arm stills and he turns slowly, hoping it's just his hearing still playing up on him. "Lex?"
((OOC: Please comment here for ooc discussion?))

"Yeah, I guess I didn't expect to see you here either."

"Look, I didn't mean for this to happen, it just did. And I've apologised and tried even more about my investigation on you. I was on my way to make sure everything was destroyed yesterday and I was brought here."
He knew Clark would be skeptical. "It's the truth, and I'm still sorry. Your friendship is what I value more Clark, you have to believe me."
no subject
"Lex, the last time we spoke you slammed a door in my face. You haven't valued my friendship in months."
no subject
"What?"
He just looked back at Clark. The last time he saw him was in a confrontation at his mansion.
"Clark, you left at your own free will, after yelling at me."
With good reason.
"I don't recall slamming any doors in your face.

"At the hospital? With Lana? You told me I wasn't welcome to see her, even make sure she was okay."
