Special Delivery from FentonWorks! (AKA. The BRAWL!)

"Maddie!  Bring my fudge down when you come!"

You hear that bellow?  It's coming from the Door which has just swung open on a set of stairs.  At the top, you might glimpse bits of living room furnature...but not for long.  The view is quickly blocked by a large, orange object which barrels down the stairs and into Milliways.  As it skids to a stop, you can see it's a rather large, jumpsuit-clad human.  A very shocked, larged, jumpsuit-clad human.

He stares for a moment, wheels in his head audibly grinding.

"GALLOPING GHOSTS!  MADDIE!  THE LAB'S BEEN COMPROMISED!"

Either way, Aang was running away in his hamster ball as fast as he could.

It he hadn't been running to avoid death or imprisonment for life (with probable torture, considering Zhao was here and he'd said he'd keep Aang alive, but only barely) this would've been fun!

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
"It doesn't seem to've stuck to the Avatar," says Zhao. "But if you're worried about getting your hands dirty, then by all means, don't worry about it."

Unless that orange actually does him harm, he's going to go after that ball and start pushing it in the direction of the back door. Just to see if he can, first. He'll figure out the rest once they're all out of the way.

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
This earns him a scathing look. "I'm not worried about getting my hands dirty, Zhao. I'm perfectly capable of handling my own."

That said, she goes after the bouncing Aang.

PONG! PONG! He was starting to figure out how to use the bubble, a combination of running and jumping to get it to bounce over things he didn't want to hit and into things he did.

And one of those jumps sent him bouncing back at Zhao, but HARD.

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes you have to make a split-second decision whether you're ready for it or not. Zhao's pretty sure fire's not the way to go right now, since it'd probably bounce right off that bubble, but there's plenty of furniture about...

In a mere instant, he picks up the nearest chair and swings it hard at the oncoming Avatar bubble.

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
She stops short just as the ball bounces back at Zhao, sidestepping to get away from any damage that could have happened. Her jaw drops slightly at the chair-bubble connection. Eeek!

[identity profile] nottwinkletoes.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
HOME RUN!

"WAAAAAUGH! Owowowowoofow!"

The bubble slammed into the ceiling and then started bouncing off random surfaces, jarring the boy inside and slammed him against the sides of it. There wasn't enough room and he was being shaken so much he couldn't Airbend to try to cushion himself.

"This--isn't--as--fun--ow--any--ow--more!"

The ball went crashing into a table, breaking it, and started to lose its momentum, leaving Aang trying to stumble to his feet inside.

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Zhao looks at the bubble, then looks at the chair in his hand, and then gives a slow, sprawling grin that would do the Grinch proud. "You know, I think I'll try that again," he says. "Maybe with a bigger chair, though- that one over there looks about right..."

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
While Zhao starts monologuing, Azula takes off after the Aang-inna-ball again. She's not going to let this dead guy get her prize plzkthnx!

[identity profile] nottwinkletoes.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
He was kind of a prize wasn't he? Like they'd gotten him out of a machine with a twisty knob for a quarter.

Aang tried to scrambled away, but the ball had landed in some slimy green goop and just kept sliding around in place.

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh no you don't!" says Zhao, although it's hard to say whether that's directed at Azula or the Avatar.

Chairs aren't very aerodynamic, but throw hard enough and you can compensate for that.

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
She slides to a stop again and turns to growl at Zhao before taking after the Avatar again. Watch it, or she'll lightning bolt you ohnoooes.

[identity profile] nottwinkletoes.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately this meant Aang kept getting shaken around in there, his head knocking into the sides of it, and rolling over and over inside it as it rolled.

"Whoawhoawhoawhoa--" He was used to barrel rolls and drops, and as a rule didn't tend to get queasy, but this was pushing it. He was going to get sick if this kept up.

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's just plain heartbreaking, isn't it? In that way where 'heartbreaking' means 'inspiring fits of laughter'.

Zhao's gonna come up around the other side of the ball and start herding it in the right direction now, 'k?

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
She gets to the ball, on the opposite side of the one Zhao goes for, her hand going to stop the ball from moving and to eye Aang distastefully. "And where will you take the Avatar, Zhao?" She asks snobbishly. "You can't possibly have a door."

Well, neither does she, but he doesn't need to know thaaat.

[identity profile] nottwinkletoes.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Aang tried to stand up again, but this time he was was too rattled and dizzy to do it.

And he was stuck in a bubble. He'd hoped with all the bouncing around it'd pop and let him out, but he was a nomad, born and raised in open sky, and now he was stuck in a tiny bubble.

Somehow he still had fresh air, but when he tried forcing the air inside to puncture the bubble, it just made his ears pop and feel funny.

There wasn't any water nearby to try to make into ice and spike through it and even if there was, he wasn't sure he could Waterbend if it was outside. And it wasn't as if he could Earthbend without touching the ground either.

Letting out a cry, he pounded on the side of it, his fist bouncing off, then kicked another side, trying to make it pop open and let himself out.

"Let me out!"

He was starting to get a little desperate, made all the worse because he knew they wouldn't let him out, and because he was desperate in front of his enemies. They laughed at this kind of thing.

"Katara!" he yelled, hoping she was nearby and could hear him. "Help!"

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Actually?" says Zhao, leaning around the bubble just enough to get a clear line of sight on Azula. "Since I never bothered coming in by one, I was planning on leaving the same way I got here." Then he looks back at the bubble. "Oh, I don't think so..."

He's pretty sure that as long as they stay close to the Bar, the lake'll still be out of the Avatar's range. He just has to get the brat outside first.

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
She raises her eyebrows and shakes her head. "I don't think so, Admiral."

Pulling rank ohnoooes. Princess trumps Admiral!

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Zhao's lips go thin for a moment. Then he laughs. "Only until I get him bck to our world and take him home," he says. "Of course, you're free to try and stop me, but somehow I don't think that's going to work very well here."

World's most selective application of the No Old Business rule. Never mind that this is all about old business.

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
But he's dead and this isn't fair!

Her face is stony until she smirks slowly. "Somehow, I don't think our fight would be any different than the others."

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Either way, talking about it's a waste of time, Princess," says Zhao, and starts shoving the ball in the direction of the back door.

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
She narrows her eyes and positions herself quietly. "You never think before you act, Admiral."

And then there's lightning and it's aimed at his feet.

[identity profile] nottwinkletoes.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Or," Aang suggested, "instead of you two fighting, we could all follow the rules and not fight with each other?"

[identity profile] fire-admiral.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Zhao's too busy jumping sideways to do more than swear once- and give the ball an almighty SHOVE in Azula's direction.

[identity profile] favoured-azula.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
She flails slightly and throws her hands up at the ball as it comes rolling towards her. She manages to only roll it over a foot (which still smarts and she's pissed off now). "Shut it, Avatar."
