It's not fair that Peter's sore even in his dreams. He shuffles, wincing, toward the nearest booth, and flops gracelessly into it.

Sitting down. It's good stuff.

"I know," he says, softer now. "But Nathan, you can't. Look, I found somebody who's helping me, and I think it's working. It's okay."

Nathan seemed surprised at that, "From here? Or back home?"

"-- Well, both," Peter admits. "But I meant back home."

He looks at Nathan, with a faint, troubled frown. "I know you want to help. But -- I can handle this, okay? I'm learning how to control it."

Nathan seemed to relent a little, "You are? But Suresh said..."

The frown deepens.

"What did he say?"

Nathan sighed, and then said, "I asked him if you could be dangerous to yourself or others because of your ability, and he agreed that if you absorb too much or were exposed to an unstable ability, it was very possible. But he did offer to help all of us."

"Help us how?"

He shakes his head. "I'm making progress -- isn't that better than being some kind of guinea pig?"

"He said with further study he might be able to fix it, or at least create an inhibitor."

Nathan sighed again, "I don't know, Peter. Maybe."

For some reason Peter thinks of Kate.

He looks down.

He can't say, I don't want it taken away. His ability, or half of New York -- it's not even a question. But --

"'Might.' I know I'm making progress. Nathan, I can take care of myself."

And the thing is? A tiny part of Nathan didn't want to lose it either. Maybe Rachel was wrong that piece of him would die, but there was something freeing about taking to the air. The times here, including with his brother.

He wanted to tell Peter that he still wasn't sure, but then he remembered what Moon said once.

Peter is stronger than you realise. Stronger than even he realises.

Nathan sighed, but then relented, "All right, Pete. We'll try it your way for now. But first sign of trouble, you know where to find me."

That was easy. He glances up again, studying Nathan's face.

"Really?"

Sort of. Nathan still wasn't sure.

"Yeah," he quietly replied.

He studies Nathan a moment longer, and nods.

Lighter: "Since when do you talk to Mohinder, anyway?"

"Since I realized that maybe my brother's right on some things, and not as crazy as I wished this whole thing to be. Amazing how a possible explosion can put everything in perspective, huh?"

Long look back at Peter.

He looks at Nathan, uncertain, and down at his hands.

And exhales.

"You mean that?" Wary.

"Yeah. What choice do I have?" Nathan remarked, and there was almost a note of fatalism to it. Not quite yet, but he's getting there.

Peter's quiet for a moment. "I guess you're right."

"Sorry if I made you worry."

"Isn't that your job? You get into trouble, and make me worry?" Nathan weakly joked, but there was some sharp bitterness to it too.
