Angela needed a break. She needed a break from the lab, from the smell of dead alligator, and from Zach, who is trying to figure out how to move from being someone's coworker to being someone's superior with all his usual skill at anything involving social skills.
Which is to say, not much skill at all.
She has coffee and a confortable chair.
[OOC: Mun is spending an afternoon off of work cleaning and doing laundry. Replies may be a bit slow, but tags are most welcome.]

Which is why Angela receives a friendly smile and a "Hello" as Parker settles into the next comfy chair over with a cup of coffee and a book.

"Good book?"
no subject
Parker grins and unashamedly holds up her paperback, the cover of which promises prose of the splashy, trashy, entertaining variety.
High literature it's not. But it's a lot more fun.
"It's not a school book, which sort of makes it good by default."
Midterms and all.

She hasn't read enough of the book yet to know for sure.
"I'm Parker," she adds. "I'm kind of new here."

"And now I'm wondering if there's a market for romance novels for masochists."
no subject
Parker lays down her book and reaches for her coffee cup.
"And I'm sure there is. One of my professors say that if a fetish exists there will be a market to support it. And God, but there are some bizarre ones out there."

Angela says nothing about odd enthusiasms. She is, after all, happily dating a guy who likes to smell her hair and consideres unidentified particulates to be two of the most beautiful words in the English language (and probably considers substances particulaires inconnues three of the most beautiful words in French).

A slight exaggeration. But only a slight one.
"What's her name? The girl from Neptune?"
no subject
"What's the name of the guy you're seeing?"
no subject
"I've met her. Once. I actually met her here."
Neptune High students don't seem to hang out at Hearst much.
"His name is Logan Echolls. And I think he knows half the people here. He's been coming here a lot longer than I have."
no subject
But she raises an eyebrow nonetheless.
"Logan Echolls?"
She's heard of him.
no subject
Because of course the name Logan Echolls is not exactly unfamiliar to people in her world. Provided they pay any attention to entertainment news.
And people tended to react to it in a mix of ways.
Parker's parents, for example, hadn't been impressed.

"That looks like a remarkably good idea."
no subject
"Thanks. It's not quite as good an idea as, say, a margarita, but the federal government is oddly particular about its employees not being intoxicated at work. For some reason.
"Coffee works in the meantime."

He flags a rat and collapses into an arm chair, curling his legs up underneath himself.

She pauses. She's willing to bet either Zach or Hodgins knows one.
"Rough day?"
no subject
He laughs, and rubs his cheek a little, with an embarassed sigh.
"I'm afraid so."
no subject
"Angela Montenegro. We seem to have skipped that part, so I should double back for it."
no subject
He thinks. The name, Angela, made him think of churches so he remembered.
"Whatshisname."
no subject
Of course, it's possible that there are other people who might describe themselves as "in love with" Angela Montenegro. She really hopes, though, that they're not here.
"Well," says Angela, "if his name isn't Jack Hodgins, I'm going to have to hope you remember or I'm going to have to learn to live with curiosity."
no subject
Jack is too tired to pretend at tact- he usually misses it by a good foot at the best of times.
"Either way, he seemed lovely."
no subject
"I should take that Jack of the Frost thing literally, right?"
no subject
An embarassed smile.
"That would be him."
no subject
"Anyway, it's very nice to meet you, Jack."
