Something quiet is lurking on the lakebank.
In and out behind the rocks, dark splashes, soft noises.
[ooc: sorry about that, folks, was kidnapped for business but am returned.]

Dark eyes, grey skin, red blood.

Allie's eyes looked at him straight, color suddenly darker, suddenly deeper, giving away only in the moment they widened as she gave a small gasp.
no subject
He straightens and gives her a worried look.
She doesn't have to be frightened.
no subject
Her fingers rubbed together and she swallowed again, head tilting a little, eyes still wider than normal.
"Hi." Her voice trembled slightly and it was smaller than normal.
no subject
He folds his arms, and looks at her hopefully.
no subject
Like his did.
Though his....his was not a story like one she had ever seen before. Short and already brutually finished, yet still going.
"I'm Allie."

Because his smile was genuine. It shown true.
"Are you new here? I haven't seen you around before."
no subject
He's starting to get settled.
Adopted. That's the good part, and he can't help but have hope.
no subject
"Me, too."
For so very much of the things he thought.
"Why are you out here alone?"
She has to ask, even if she thinks she might know well the answer already.
no subject
That's a lie. He's very aware of why.
no subject
Bravely though, because she's very acquainted with being alone and not wanting to be, she says, "I was looking for the flowers that put Rapunzel to sleep. Though it is getting pretty late for being able to find them."
no subject
He could help? He'd like to help. He's very good at things, he lives out here a lot of the time and knows where all the special flowers grow.
no subject
"It's hard to describe she says. Very colorful and small. They don't look like weeds, but if you smell them you sleep until the flowers fade and die."
Allie gives a grin, puffing up a little. "I wanted to collect some for the infirmary. I thought they might help with surgeries and people who needed to be asleep so as not to hurt themselves."
no subject
Maybe, he points tentatively, there might be flowers over by those trees there. He can't smell, so he's not sure.
no subject
Inquisitively, almost conspiratorially, she called, "Coming?"
no subject
Just over there!
no subject
"That does look a little like them. I'll have to wait to collect them though, as I don't want to fall asleep on them for a month."
no subject
He looks at her cautiously, and offers with a start towards them. He doesn't really sleep.
no subject
"That would be amazing. What do we put them in though, for taking them to the infirmary? How do we make sure no one else smells them until the doctors can examine them safely?"
no subject
no subject
"Maybe I could run in and just ask Mistress Bar for a container to hold the flowers so no one gets hurts and see what she gives me?"
no subject
He'll do what she likes, he's just... not sure.
no subject
"Maybe I should just bring Zahaan or Dr. Guppy out here the next time I run into one of them."
no subject
Warmth slips into his voice.
He likes Zhaan. She's one of his oldest friends. She helps him when he needs it and plays with him, no one ever wants to do that.
