Return!
The second the door appeared in the Bar, she was out. It didn't matter where or when, there was somewhere else to go and she took it.
Weeks later, sitting in a slowly cooling room in an inn on Wuzhao, she smokes a cigarette beside the window and starts to think about what to tell people, if she happens to stumble back. Not that she wanted to go back, of course.
It's just that it might be a good idea to get out of Wuzhao soon. The room wasn't the only thing rapidly cooling and someone was bound to collect soon.
The next week, gardening on Gaia in a sunhat and dress the kind old couple of the farm offered to the young woman their grandson was so taken with, she wonders what she should tell Bill if she goes back. She had been so excited to go home that she couldn't wait? She tried to peek through the door and got pulled through? She tripped? She tried to find him and left word with Bar, but the damn thing must have lost it...
One month later, she's in silk with a flute of champagne in her fingers, leaning into the arm curled around her shoulders and showing off a ring that she's been told is divine at least fifteen times tonight. An hour later in the coat room, 'celebrating' her engagement with her fiance, she wonders if she'll get back to Milliways again at all or if she'll ever stumble into another world.
And just as she's finished winking at the boy bringing them room service on her way to the pool, the automatic doors do not open to a glimmering, shimmering, holographic representation of a beautiful beach on what should be a basic pool.
It's a bar. Or, rather, a Bar.
Blinking, the redhead looks around in surprise.
Surprise will give her the time she needs to remember what alias she was going by the last time she was here.

He doesn't notice the new arrival as his attention is focused on the bowl of pretzels he has and the log cabin he's building. Bored? A little. And totally unawares.
no subject
"Bill!"
He doesn't need to stand up - she's short enough to throw her arms around his shoulders while he's still on the bar stool.
no subject
He pulls back from her just enough so he can get his own arms free and around her.

Evangeline Walker. That was the one.
And since Evangeline Walker would have missed her boyfriend quite a bit, she cups his face in her hands and kisses him.

Not spotting one he draws back and looks at Eva smiling, "Eva. It's...it's been awhile. How you been? Everything alright?"

He gestures to the stool beside him, "Here, sit down. You hungry? I can getcha somethin to eat."

"Hey babe, who's the skank?" she asks cheerily.
no subject
"Woah, hey." He says, to Raz in what he'd like to be a stern manner but comes out mostly nervous and shocked.
no subject
"I... uh... excuse me?"
It's the best she can do after being called a skank, after all.
no subject
"Yeah, you. What's your name?"
Raspberry leans on the Bar casually.
no subject
"Hey now Raz, really don't appreciate that. This is Eva." He reaches over and takes Eva's hand and gives it a squeeze. "Eva this is Raspberry."
He considers adding 'my girlfriend' to Eva's introduction but doesn't know how good an idea that is, what with Raz coming up like she did.

Please. Go away. And don't say anything. Is Bill's mental plea.
no subject
"You're... new to Milliways, miss.. uhm, Raz?"

There has been singing for some time. But now the words are audible.
"Beedle-dee dee dee dee.... two ladies!
Bee-dle-dee dee dee dee ... two ladies!
Bee-dle-dee dee dee dee ... and I'm the only man, ja!"
If they look closely, there may be a chorus line of slugs on the edge of the bar.
Dancing.

"Holy fuckin shit!" Bill shouts out and leaps up, tumbling out of the stool and covering his mouth quickly. For his part though he does bring Eva with him and even though they fall he does place his other hand over her mouth as they hit the floor.
Why? Oh, because once upon a time ago brain slugs invaded his town and zombified people by crawling into thier mouths. See, he's not completely nuts.
no subject
Squeal muffled against his palm, she falls back against him when they hit the floor, flailing with his arm around her. She tries to look back at him, hands up against his arm and-- well, she would try to shout at him again.
It's just that there are slugs on the bar and they're singing.
no subject
"Bee-dle-dee dee dee dee, I like it.
Bee-dle-dee dee dee dee, they like it.
Bee-dle-dee dee dee dee, this two for one!"
...although they all trail off in surprise when the bigpeoples hit the floor.
That's not the desired reaction!
Ouh. The slugs are sad now. They all hang their heads and look mournful.
no subject
"...Okay. Dancing slugs, dude. That is fucked up."
Long pause, then a grin.
"You guys want some booze or somethin'?" (Said to the slugs, not to the crazy man on the floor and his skank.)
no subject
He blinks and turns to look up at Raz, removing the hand over his own face enought to say, "Don't let em in your mouth."
So they're not red like the ones during the invasion, but they are also singing so definetely not normal slugs either.
no subject
"Why would they want to get in our mouths?" she asks, once free and starting to climb to her feet, catching Bill's hand in her free one.
