Suzi Darley has a pad of paper, several pens, and a booth where she can keep an eye on the bar in general. Her knitting and her usual signs offering jewelry for sale are nowhere in sight.

She's here for one reason: initial interviews with the people who requested them. Her notes will be passed along above her head, and those people will sit down and figure out who they want to talk to more from there.

She's got the list of questions that Alanna used in the last hire written down to use (and blank space under them in case anyone on Security has other questions that they want her to start adding), and plans to file each days interviews as soon as they're all finished so that they're to hand for the people doing the actual hires.

Blink. Blink. "Okay." Suzi says again, copying that does obediently, "What are the bar rules?"

"No fighting in the bar, no sex in the bar, no outside business in the bar." she says immediately. "And pay your tab when the barman says, and no underage drinking, though I don't know if they're official ones."

"Okay." Suzi says, nodding, "And What, if any, are your duties back home?"

"I work as a cook, but if I get the job here I'll give that up; as I said, it was just to tide me over until I got married. After that I have no other duties back home. I left my native country to get away from civil war and Jack's blood father. Apart from Jack and my husband here, my family are all dead. I have a few friends back home, but they're not likely to need my help.
In my husband's world I have no duties at the moment, although in a few years time I will have to consider Jack's schooling needs. At the moment he's only sixteen months, so that isn't an issue."

"Have you had any dealings with Milliways Security?"

"I work for Mr Faramir as a batman sometimes. I slapped someone who threatened Jack in self defence but didn't get arrested. And I got rescued by Mr Sharpe when Jack's father tied me to a sink and tried to kidnap him."

"Alright." Suzi says, nodding and continuing, "How would you handle the following scenario: A new patron draws a gun and threatens an enemy from home -- an enemy that has been a bar patron for some time and hasn't caused trouble. The new patron also has magic, and lets everyone know it."

Shufti considers this.

"Firstly I'd be wondering if they have dangerous magic, why would they be using a gun? Anyway, I'd approach, carefully, and tell them that this is neutral territory and that neither they nor the threatened patron is allowed to use violence here. Since I'm not a magic user I'd also be looking to see if there was any available magical backup. I'd tell them that I am a member of the security team here.
If none of this was successful, I'd ask the threatened patron if there were any others from their world who could explain what was going on. And if all else failed, I'd get the crossbow trained on the new patron and tell them to drop the gun. If they don't know the rules they don't know I won't shoot them."

Suzi nods, and copies that down carefully, "Alright. Is there anything else you think should be talked about?"

Shufti glances at the little boy quietly playing.

"My husband is able to look after Jack whilst I'm working." she says. "And I have another friend who can babysit at short notice. But is there anything that I should know about the job in terms of being a mother?"

"I have no idea. I don't have anything to do with children." Suzi says with a shrug, "Ask Alanna or Svava, they both have children."

She nods.

"Okay, thanks." A smile. "Did I do okay, or am I not allowed to ask?"

"I don't know." Suzi says honestly, "I just ask the questions, write the answers down, and let my bosses know if anyone lied during the interview. I'm not actually doing the hiring."

She nods.

"Oh, okay. How do you know if they lied?" she asks curiously. "Not that I did."

"I'm Sime." Suzi says, holding up one be-tentacled arm, "You can't lie to Sime. We always know."

She grins. "I bet that's useful."

Getting up and scooping up the patient toddler. "I won't keep you, you must have other candidates. But it was nice meeting you, and thanks for your time."
