Suzi Darley has a pad of paper, several pens, and a booth where she can keep an eye on the bar in general. Her knitting and her usual signs offering jewelry for sale are nowhere in sight.

She's here for one reason: initial interviews with the people who requested them. Her notes will be passed along above her head, and those people will sit down and figure out who they want to talk to more from there.

She's got the list of questions that Alanna used in the last hire written down to use (and blank space under them in case anyone on Security has other questions that they want her to start adding), and plans to file each days interviews as soon as they're all finished so that they're to hand for the people doing the actual hires.

"Okay." Suzi writes that down, obediently, "Are you a magic user? If so, what type of magic?"

"No. No magic." Clark is very, very firm on this. He also visibly tenses at the question.

Suzi pauses, here, and says; "That question makes you very uncomfortable. Is that for reasons which might have bearing on your suitability for a position? I'm including prejudice, vulnerabilities, and anything else in my question."

Clark sighs. "I had a bad experience with some magic users once. I didn't know how badly they could hurt me at the time. I know not all people who use magic are like that, it's just... bad memories." He shrugs. "If that makes me unsuitable, I understand."

"That's not my decision to make." Suzi says honestly, "There are a lot of magic users here, and you'd probably have to deal with one or more at some point if you got hired. If you think you can do it, I'm more than happy to keep right on going with the interview."

"I can," he answers honestly. After all, he deals with stuff at home all the time that he doesn't want to. "Might even give me a reason to look into it and try to understand some of it better."

"Okay! The next one is What are the bar rules?"

Good, back to easier questions.

"No violence, no sex or nudity," there is only a slight blush here, "and no outside business in the bar."

Everyone else is so weird about sex and nudity. Suzi follows and will enforce the rule, but doesn't understand it, "Mmmkay. And Why do you want to join security?"

"Well, I like helping people. I've helped the police out a few times back home and it seems to be something I'm good at. Also, if people I care about are going to be spending time here, I'd like to know first hand that they're safe and that I can help keep it that way for them and everyone else."

"Okay." Suzi says, nodding and giving him a quick smile, "What, if any, are your duties back home?"

"Pretty much anything and everything to do with our farm. Keeping it running it mostly my responsibility." Self-imposed, but it still counts. "I also keep an eye on my mom and my friends."

"Farm...mom...friends..." Suzi takes down, then winces just a bit, "I'm horrible at any sort of growing-things. Back in Keon I wasn't allowed to try to help. Have you had any dealings with Milliways Security?"

"The farm's been in our family for over a hundred years. I didn't have a choice but to learn," Clark smiles.

"Security... I've met a couple of people on it and I visited someone in the cells once. Otherwise, no."

"Last one!" she says cheerfully, "How would you handle the following scenario: A new patron draws a gun and threatens an enemy from home -- an enemy that has been a bar patron for some time and hasn't caused trouble. The new patron also has magic, and lets everyone know it."

"I'd first try to see if the situation could be resolved peacefully. Talk to the newcomer and explain to them where they are and what the rules are. Some people draw weapons for comfort and attention as opposed to actually having the intention of using them."

He continues, "If it seemed like they weren't going to calm down, my first duty would be to protect the person they're targeting and any other bystanders. Easiest way would be to disarm them, but I'd also get people to safety first, if need be."

"Alright!" Suzi says when she's done writing his answer down, "Is there anything else that you think I should tell my bosses?"

There's a clear hesitation here and Clark's emotions right about now would best be described as 'conflicted'.

"There are a few things they should know, but I'd rather tell them myself if they decide to seriously consider me," he answers after a moment.

Suzi doesn't hesitate, just writes candidate states that there are additional things which he would inform the hiring board of if they decide to seriously consider him, "Okay! That's it, then!"

Clark relaxes, smiles and sits back in his chair. "That wasn't so bad. Thanks."

"I try very hard not to attack and damage people who are trying to help." the bitty, fragile little Sime informs him with a grin and a wrinkling of her nose, "I don't know when they'll make hiring choices, so keep an eye out for a notice."

He chuckles at that because... well, the obvious. "I appreciate it."

Clark stands and offers her a hand. "I'll watch out for something. Thanks again, Suzi, and I hope the rest of your interviews go well."

She stands up as well and shakes his hand firmly, "You're welcome, Clark. Feel free to come talk to me any time, too."

"I'll keep that in mind," he says, offering a nod and a final smile before heading off and letting the next person take over.
