Suzi Darley has a pad of paper, several pens, and a booth where she can keep an eye on the bar in general. Her knitting and her usual signs offering jewelry for sale are nowhere in sight.

She's here for one reason: initial interviews with the people who requested them. Her notes will be passed along above her head, and those people will sit down and figure out who they want to talk to more from there.

She's got the list of questions that Alanna used in the last hire written down to use (and blank space under them in case anyone on Security has other questions that they want her to start adding), and plans to file each days interviews as soon as they're all finished so that they're to hand for the people doing the actual hires.

"Ah. Well, good luck with the rest of the interviews," he says with a smile. "Hopefully you won't have too many obnoxious ones. Can I buy you a drink?"

"Yes, thank you." Suzi says cheerfully, "Either tea or rum, I like both."

"You can have both," he says with a mischievous, challenging smirk.

"I could..." she agrees, "but most tea tastes better with milk than with rum? Rum tastes good with coconut, though?"

"Do they have coconut flavored tea? I'm sure some American company's come up with coconut flavored creamer..."

"...How would I know?" Suzi asks with amusement, "I'm willing to experiment?"

"All right." He flags down a wait rat and places the order: "I'd like a cup of Darjeeling tea with coconut flavored creamer and a bit of rum in."

You would think he was also interviewing for a spot as a bartender.

Suzi...just assumes he's being James. "Thank you, James. How are things at home?"

He did randomly invent a cocktail while playing a high stakes poker game for justice, so yes, it is James just being James.

"Good," he replies. "Sarah's been traveling, so I've had the two flats to myself." There's the requisite missing her, but he expected that.

"Whistler's had a lot of work to do, too." Suzi commiserates, "I at least get to see him when he's home, but I don't like being alone."

She drives the puppy insane.

Bond doesn't like saying he hates being alone, but that's what he feels. He's glad when the wait rat returns with the drink; he prefers not to dwell on what it's like when he feels lonely.

"I don't think anyone does," he replies, handing her the drink.

He's talking to a Sime channel. He doesn't have to say anything, "Mmm. I think Dietmar likes being alone, but that's because he's sooo unused to having other people around who care for him."

Bond doesn't look convinced. "I think some people tell themselves they enjoy being alone, but give them a chance to interact with good people and they'll wish they were in the company of more people like them."

"Not everyone." Suzi says, shrugging a little, "But most people, yes."

"I suppose." He nods to the tea. "How is it?"

"Sort of weird." Suzi says, giving it another sip, "But not bad...I've had some desserts that taste like this?"

He nods. "Maybe I should try another tea..."

Please tell Bond it is not his job to create different drinks. D:

"Um." Suzi says, "But I like plain tea, too?"

"Is that a hint?"
