Kara has had something of an interesting time lately. So far, in the last two weeks or so, she's:

1. Saved like millions of people, but that's normal, so whatever.


2. Dropped out of high school.


3. Agreed to join the most illegal group of superheroes ever.


4. Gotten checked out by her amnesiac alternate universe cousin (ew).


5. Suddenly become a venomous laser wolf puppy owner.


6. Been enlisted to fight pirates. Seriously, pirates.

It's this upcoming event that Kara's considering, while playing on the beach with the subject of item 5, also known as Sunshine or Kara What In God's Name Is Wrong With You She Has Lasers Well Okay She's Kinda Cute But Ow Don't Hit Me Jesus.

She's gonna stick with Sunshine, though. It's easier to say. As she often does, not frolicking at all in any way, shape, or form up and down the beach with her new kid, who she's going to have to figure out where to send while she's, y'know, on the high seas. Later. Right now she's just...trying to unwind, and that's good.

There's a bag near where they're playing, holding her cape to the ground and being occasionally checked to make sure no one's making off with it. Kara would have to punch somebody for that.

The perpetrator of line item number 5 wanders out and grins at the sight of the two of them not frolicking.

It's the best not-frolicking sight he's seen in a long time.

Not frolicking. Keep that in mind. Kara stops not frolicking with Sunshine currently hugged to her chest as she lies flat on her back, tipping her head back at the sound of a familiar heartbeat and waving with a grin.

"Hallo, lass!" Spoon calls out to each of them in their languages, and heads on over to flop on the ground near them.

His puppies follow, curling up to make a whole pile of people and pups, "How's everyone settling in?"

"Pretty good," Kara says, reaching out to pet the other puppies as Sunshine squirms loose and goes to greet Spoon. "We got a place for her."

I went really high, Spoon! She informs him. She loves me!

I knew she would. Spoon informs her, rubbing her under her chin.

Hi, Supergirl! Spoon's kids chorus, then Stepan informs Sunshine, Spoon's good at finding the right people for puppies.

"Good! Where's she staying when you're out of town, then?"

Kara sighs, pushing herself up on her hands. "See, that's the thing, right? I don't know yet. Like, obviously I can't use a kennel, and I wouldn't, anyway, but...I'm like, going on my first Outsiders mission tomorrow. I'm, you know, trying to figure stuff out here." By playing with her puppy- Kara never claimed to makes sense.

Sunshine returns to Kara's side, and tells Stepan, He is. My mom's a little weird, but so am I, so it's good.

"Alright." Spoon says, with a nod, "I can watch her while you're gone, and you can come get her when you get home." See? It's easy.

Just like Spoon's a dork, but we love him. Raisa agrees.

"Really?" Kara cheers back up instantly, grinning with a closed mouth, as she's figured out how to do. "Thank you so much- I feel kind of like a jerk for, you know, having to let her go off somewhere without her, but...I have to. There are pirates, dude. Pirates." With that, she reaches out to run a hand down Sunshine's back, a move that's already pretty much unconscious. They've...kind of been bonding a little, sue her.

Yeah. I like her Boomer friend, too, he's good at petting. It's a lot nicer with her than at that place. Sunshine arches up into the petting.

"I couldn't keep her." Spoon says, rubbing Sunshine under the chin, "But she can visit, sure."

It makes him SO GLAD to see the two of them bonding. Really! "So you go do your job, and she'll tell you all about the goats and shite when you get back."

Spoon was at a place, too. Sometimes he cries. Stepan says, flopping down with his head on Kara's knee. Raisa mimics the pose with Spoon's knee, Sarge got Spoon out, and Spoon got you out. And your mum gets other people out of places. Spoon explained.

"Well, yeah, no keeping," Kara agrees- though she's not saying she'll be the one keeping her. Somebody else could. Somehow.

"And I'll tell you both about, you know, the high seas. Bring you little fruity umbrellas and whatever. And- hey!" She lifts an arm and points at her bag, beaming at him. "I got your watches done!"

Stepan's head is petted with the other arm, while Sunshine settles down next to Kara's leg. My mom says that if anybody ever tries to hurt me again, she'll make sure they have to learn how to get dressed without hands. And she does. She's really busy. I miss her sometimes.

"Really? That's fuckin' wonderful." Spoon says, and he's not in the slightest making that up, "Next few days are bad for dinner, though. Full moon is the day after tomorrow. Da and I are..." he grimaces a little, "crazy violent and extra claustrophobic right now."

Uh huh. But you can come play with us this time! Me and Stepan and Magic. Magic's older than us and she knows all kinds of things!

Mind, Sunshine is older than the puppies...but they've had more time free.

Not making away with capes, no, but the half-undead girl pauses on her stride to watch the venomous laser pup. Interesting, to say the least.

She has a targetting system on her head. It'd be cool if it didn't come out of tragedy that makes Kara make to slowly kill some people in complicated ways.

Girl and puppy continue playing, Kara laughing brightly as Sunshine licks her face.

Ravin noticed that, and is now wonderign which kind of weaponry it targets for! So, she moves closer, drawn by curiosity.

Now Kara notices her, glancing up from her puppy, and her smile fades back into
socially acceptable' as opposed to 'insanely happy'. She understands that that can be disturbing! Sunshine looks over too, ears pricked in curiosity. She's a little scared, but she has her mom, and her mom is very good at dealing with scary things.

Kara waves, sitting up and settling Sunshine in her lap.

Ravin nods to the young woman, but is watching the puppy, curious-like. Not scared, not disgusted, nothing, just curious. "Hello." Time to do the extra effort needed to be social.

Okay, Kara may have only been a mom been responsible for a puppy for a couple of days, but she has protective instincts. This is her puppy (for now, comes the hasty reminder, for now), and people don't get to look at her like she's some kind of freak, ever.

That's not what Ravin's intending, probably, but it's what Kara's seeing, and she compensates with an extra-bright and crisp "Hey!" back, coupled with a smile full of flashing white teeth.

"I like your pet." It seems to have personality! Ina freaky way, but Ravin is a freak herself; the girl crouches, balancing herself on the balls of her feet, hands in plain sight. "I'm Ravin."

"I'm Supergirl," Kara replies, still watchful, but...hey, it's not like she couldn't break Ravin in half before she had a chance to blink, right? "And she's not my pet. I'm looking after her. Her name's Sunshine."

Hi, Sunshine says, though the point will probably be lost if you don't speak canine.

"Hello, Sunshine." The point is not completely lost, Ravin can recognize a 'greeting' posture, and also, she has more consideration for beasts than people.

Animals often act more intelligent, after all.

They do. Sunshine...could honestly probably could and will outwit Kara frequently in the future.

Kara fidgets a little, rubbing behind Sunshine's ears as she thinks of something to say. "Um, so, what brings you around here?" ...wow, good work, Kara. An engaging conversationalist you are not.

Jericho is staring at her, open mouthed, quite shocked. It might be the creature. It's not everyday you see, uhm, something, like that. But it's a little bit of the girl as well.

Before his whole, thing, he'd never met Supergirl. Not the one of his world/timeline/what have you, anyways. And since his return, well, Cassie has told him a thing or two.

But he really wasn't expecting to see her here.

Kara happens to look up, after a while, and recognizes Jericho immediately. To her credit, she doesn't freak out, just smiles and waves a little, one hand on Sunshine's scruff.

He's dead in her timeline? Really? I should've thought by that issue he'd been brought back.

He makes his way over, his face open and welcoming.

Well, this Kara is still on issue 13, and her mun must confess a certain lack of knowledge of Jericho's canon- fortunately, it's not too late to avert any further confusion, as Kara hasn't explicitly said anything re: Jericho's state of biological health. Perhaps he can be considered a Schrodinger's Jericho for the moment.

"Hey," Kara says, untroubled by the above dilemma, picking up her lanky puppy, "How's it going?"
