If Sam never sees another catfish ever again, that'll be perfectly fine with him.
Perhaps especially not a giant spinning catfish -- which, as it turns out, isn't actually supposed to be spinning.
This would be why Sam is currently hunched over a table, poring over a collection of books, notes, his laptop, and John Winchester's journal, trying to figure out how on earth to exorcise a possessed statue of a fish.
As far as he knows, Dean's still back in the hotel room, laughing himself sick.

Dean's grin is brighter than usual. And kinda smirky.
"Or it would be if Sam wasn't such a crappy-ass kisser. Maybe he'll get to practice when we take on that possessed catfish."
He gives his brother a Look.
"I'll even give you pointers, Sammy. Expert advice is critical with shit like this."

"No way, man." He leans back in his chair, smirking a little. "You're just jealous."
A beat.
"Besides, I think Kaylee can decide for herself just how well I kiss."

Let us pause and take a moment to observe Sam Winchester in all his floppy-haired, bashful, adorable glory.
(Kaylee certainly is taking a moment.)
And then, over her shoulder to Dean (but not really ever taking her eyes off Sam): "Why don't you go practice on the catfish? We're a little -- occupied."
" -- if that's all right with you," she says in a rush, low, biting her lower lip again.
For Sam's Ears Only.

He's got his elbow hooked around Sam's neck again.
"Come on, Sammy--faster we take care of this, faster you can get back to your, uh--your little girlfriend, here."
no subject
"Okay, point." He grins cheekily at his brother. "Don't worry, dude, I've got your back. Besides, you wouldn't know how to handle the thing alone."
But then, as if drawn by a magnet, Sam turns to look at Kaylee.
"I shouldn't be too long," he reassures her. "It's only a possessed catfish."

And then, stricken, eyes wide:
"You'll -- you're gonna come back, right?"

Sam smiles at her.
"I promise."

Dean gets a firmer grip on his brother and starts heading toward the door.
"Come on."

"I'll be right here!" she calls after them, desperately. "Waiting!"
