In order to stave off boredom, Clark has decided to get ambitious. Well, as ambitious as he feels like getting around here. He asked the bar for a few footballs (the American kind), a bit of netting and a fair sized hoop.
It didn't take long to rig up outside - hang the hoop from a tree and the netting behind the hoop - and for the past little while, he's been perfectly content tossing aforementioned footballs through the hoop from a good distance.
Clark almost forgot how much he missed this.

A moment later, though the slushie remains, she has taken advantage of the laxity of the rules in the outdoors and reverted to a much more comfortable shape. What? Surely if you're allowed to be violent out by the lake you're equally allowed to be naked.
She hasn't noticed Clark yet; she's simply walking across the grass, sipping her slushie.

A football goes sailing over her head, dangerously close. It doesn't miss the hoop. But it's close.

And waves, cheerfully, approaching.
"Hi Clark! What's up?"

Wow, that football in his hands is really interesting. That's why he's looking at it and not her.
"Not much. Just passing time, you know?"

"You can look now," she says a moment later, and if there's a mischievous grin on her face it's only because she really can't help herself. "Sorry."
And indeed, she's resumed the guise of a pair of shorts and a shirt, though both are present only minimally.

"It's all right," he shrugs. "But thanks."

"I can't say I've ever through about it that way."

Clark asks merely out of formality. He's pretty sure he knows what her answer will be.

Given his superhearing, Chloe's sure it's only a matter of time before he spots her. She just hopes that, before then, she has a chance of seeing him finally miss.

"...that's so totally not fair. I haven't been able to go home for over a month."

She hopes it's not a month. If Clark thought that she's been avoiding him, Chloe really doesn't want to know what Riley thinks right now.

Clark shrugs again and leans against the tree behind her. "No idea. He didn't seem all that unusual when I talked to him the other day."
Beat.
"Well, no more than he normally is."
