Wheel has no mints. Wheel needs no mints. Not to change form anyways. That sort of thing is left up to the whims of those forces behind her.
Him.
It.
Something.
Besides. How would you tell if Wheel was under an enchantment anyways?
While Strength deals with the cubs [who have taken a more-than-passing interest in Wheel], Wheel is busy making one of these, now that she's made this.
It's all the rustling paper that has their attention, y'see.
They need another distraction.
That origami unicorn can't stand up to four sheltie-sized cubs.
[Strength and Wheel: two pups, one post! Well. Six if you count the cubs. But only just.]

Anyway, the girl pauses to watch the origami, those are very cool and take her mind out of his woes for a while.
Yes, the narration is mixing male and female pronouns deliberately.

Wheel's just odd that way. Or, the forces that brought him to life are.
Besides. Misfortune is part of what Wheel is. In a sense.
"Ah. Hello." Strength looks up. And girl cub #2 looks in the same direction. "We have company Wheel, so you can put that down now."

It sometimes works.
"You're not bothering. We always have time for mortals."

See, stuck!
"Oh. Ah." Ben's expression is of bewilderment: he is sure she will end saying something stupid, angering these gods or something, and getting herself in even more trouble.

"Yes?"

Whatever.
"You like them?" she says, prepairing a piece of paper to be made into a mockingbird (http://www.flickr.com/photos/inqorigami/820639157). "It's a very rewarding art form.

"But the funny thing with wheels is that, unless they're jammed up, they turn, and things get better."

"It's turned more often than you think. Just in subtle ways."

But that's because the guy who wrote Ben's canon created him to suffer.

The theif very much still overwhelmed by this place gets up the courage to ask, "What are you donig?" though she doesn't come any closer because those things playing with Wheel look as though they could eat her.

"I am folding paper," she says simply.
The cubs, still being kept from doing much damage to the unicorn by Strength, switch their attentions from card to unaware-of-immortality woman and back.
"And you?"

"You can just call her 'Wheel'; it's much simpler."
A rumble from behind Strength. There's another lion there. A big white male.
"And that would be Shujaa. He is harmless."
no subject
"Where are you three from?" she hasn't seen anything like the lion, other then the cubs.
