Darren had managed to get Marlowe fairly curious about vampires the other day (well, before they got somewhat distracted), and so it is that the Milliways' local one-eyed man in black is reading Dracula over there at a table.

He isn't entirely sure what to make of it, really.

C'mon! He had an eyepatch! That made him look like home to the woman in the little black dress. She smiled from her perch on the windowsill, sliding down and padding over, mug between her hands, "Evening."

Very little black dress, but he's getting better at hiding his surprise at the way people dress here.

Well, it was very little because she was very short.

She smiled, just slightly, nodding towards the book, "Any good?" Books were hard to come by in her when, what with all the water.

"I haven't actually got the faintest idea, miss."

She laughed brightly at that, shaking her head, "That's how I was with Shakespeare." She shook her head, the feather in her headband flicking, "Couldn't make heads or tails of it."

Ah, yes. Shakespeare. The smile doesn't fade, it's just...not there anymore.

"His works aren't that hard to follow. Although I am led to understand that the language has changed somewhat."

Her brow creased slightly, blinking, "Hadn't thought of that. That's probably it."

A shrug, "I'm from 2455. Things are bound to have changed, even before the Flood."

She nodded, smiling again, "Yes. Two thousand, four hundred and fifty-five. A.D. if that helps any." A shrug, "People have been trying to get us to use 'P.F.' instead, for 'post-flood', but it hasn't caught on yet."

Valerie catches sight of the book as she's passing, and grins.

"Enjoying it?"

"I'm...not entirely sure," he admits, glancing up at her with a wry smile.

"I remember it took me a bit to warm up to the format," she offers. "Once I got past that, though, I liked it."

"That makes me feel better. It's just." He eyes it. "Completely different from the books in my time."

"Ah, London." His smile is almost delighted. "Good to know it's still there in the future."

Will's also reading and still sketching though he's acquired dinner at some point, he knows Marlowe's there but won't approach him first.

Still a bit too embarassed by how he acted with Geoffrey and Darren though he does miss talking to Marlowe especially since he knows the tax and troubles will be coming to Nottingham.

"Ah, young Will Scarlett," he says, glancing up.

Will's much happier with Molly back, but just going to be a bit more subdued around Marlowe as he looks up from his reading, frowning at his map.

A lazy smile, just a trifle smug.

"Very well at the moment."

Darren is far, far more pleasant to think about than the Devil. Oh, yes.

"Yourself?"

"'bout the same, sir. Molly returned from 'er world."

Now the smile emerges, not terribly lazy or smug just content with the world and makes Will look like the teenager he rarely gets a chance to be.
