Ryoko's at a table, finishing off her dinner. She's been reading up on surfing, witness the book on the table, but all that's done is make it more irritating to be Bound. Now that she's got a reason to want to go home, the door's continued refusal to show up was becoming irksome.

Still, a small decanter of warm sake does wonders, and she's considering another before going out for a night flight. Conversation is good too, and/or a drinking buddy.

"I have been very well, to tell the truth. Things are calm enough to not be a worry, and agitated enough to not be boring." He bows to her, before siting.

"Then life is as it should be." She acknowledges the bow with a nod, as standing is a bit difficult at the moment. "To interesting times?" She says raising her sake for a toast.

He raises his cup with a grin. "You know, the chinese use that saying as a sort of bad wish... or a call for a challenge."

"I like a challenge, myself." Her eyes sparkle with laughter, and probably the sake has something to do with it. At least a little.

Ah, the michiveous kami that lives in all bottles of sake. Yes, that could be it. "Well then, to challenging interesting times, and the rewards of challenges conquered" And he drinsk, having to do some catching up with Ryoko.

Ryoko drinks too, with a bit more gusto than decorum. She pours another for Ryu then leans back in her chair, smiling contentedly. "So what has been keeping you busy lately?"

"Simple things. Have been helping a friend hone his fighting skills, and he has been returning the favor to me." he drinks with an equal balance of gusto and decorum; later, when it becomes necessary, Ryu will also order a replacement decanter.

"Sounds like fun," Ryoko says. "What are you learning?" she leans forward, an elbow on the table, and rests her chin in her hand. A thin white scar runs across her cheek, weeks old.

Ryu reaches out and touches the scar, curious, in a mute question. "Hmm, dirty tricks, mostly. Ways to end a fight quickly, before being hurt."

"Those are handy skills to have."

"An arrow. Too many of them to dodge them all, and the whole place stopped me from healing like I normally do." Her own finger traces it. "I've never had a scar before."

"Very handy." Even more when you are a spy, commando, and assassin. "It makes you look more fierce."

She smiles, sipping sake. "Well in that case, I won't worry about it. I kind of like it myself. The other one's a bit bigger."

"Well, accidents, injury, scars, unfortunately happen. But we survive, and go on, and enjoy the good things in life." He drinks again, and smiles to her. "We are survivors."

"Survival: so far, so good." Again, it feels like a toast, so she raises her cup. She sips only; she's too far ahead as it is.

Ryu is trying to catch up. Acting while under the influence of alcohol was part of his training too. "Let's keep it that way then. Not like when I drank four decanters and tried to do the 108 Plum Blossoms balancing the 5th in my head..." Ryu can't help but chuckle.

"Now that sounds like a show worth seeing." She grins at the image. "I couldn't count the number of times I got spotted by the Galaxy Police because I wandered into the wrong building after leaving a bar."

"If I drink enough, I might just try it again. And this time, I might even not drop the 5th decanter." Ryu smirks. Sounds like some good fun...

"Aha, that sounds like a challenge!" She decides it's about time for another decanter, and to that end, splits the last of the current one between the two of them.

And Ryu waves a waitrat over, ordering a refill. "Wanna bet on my success or failure?"

She considers seriously. "Success, I think. I don't want to jinx anything." The serious doesn't last long, though and she grins again. "Are there stakes to put up?"

"Hmm... lets negotiate it. Propose something I give a counteroffer... like blindfolds and a few of the pilars being wet." Wet and thusly, slippery

"I don't want to sabotage it! I just want to see. Wouldn't the drink be challenge enough?" Although, slippery would step it up a bit, especially after drinking...

"What?" Ryu is all teasing mock shock and horror. "You do not want to cheat?" What kind of pirate is Ryo?

"Huh?" She actually looks surprised. "I am losing my touch, aren't I? All this law-abiding is killing me!"

"Completely. Laws are more like loose suggestions you abide for to avoid excessive trouble. You take care of your family and allies, and therest... well, the rest." He grins a bit to her.
