Happy 10nd birthday, Enzo!

Enzo Matrix has been charging back and forth between the Bar and the back door all morning, fetching bowls and platters for the adults to arrange on the tables out back.

He looks a bit different today, in a couple of respects. Firstly, he's almost two inches taller and, whereas before he looked about-nine-or-ten, he's now clearly about-ten-or-eleven. Secondly, he's got a new outfit...

Now, finally, it's all ready! Enzo pelts back into the barroom, bellows "PARTY TIME!!" and heads back outside.

"Uh-huh! I've even met some new kids 'cause I had Bar give invitations to all the kids whether I know 'em or not." A Cunning Plan!

"That is ingenuous," Marian laughed. "More friends and more gifts most likely. Who've you newly met?"

"Takeru and Momiji." He grins and blushes a little. "They both thought I was gonna be two years old, 'cause I only said it was my second birthday on the invite and I forgot that if people came who don't know me then they wouldn't know that I'm not human and it's different. So they were looking for a baby!"

"I hadn't known until I saw the card myself. I thought you were much older, since you look and act much like the older children back in my home realm."

"Sprites' birthdays are a lot farther apart than Users'," he explains. "I mean, relatively."

He nods. "I guess they're not as big a deal for you guys."

Marian looked slightly confused at that statement.

"Which?"

"Birthdays. Since you have more of 'em."

Marian smiled a little, as her confusion faded.

"I don't know about that. People throw themselves quite the largest parties. Though I think perhaps you might be right in some ways. For us it's passingly normal every year, and for you it's a shiny pinnacle each fifth."

He nods. "'Cept it's hours, not years. Birthday comes every 2048 cycles."
