Happy 10nd birthday, Enzo!

Enzo Matrix has been charging back and forth between the Bar and the back door all morning, fetching bowls and platters for the adults to arrange on the tables out back.

He looks a bit different today, in a couple of respects. Firstly, he's almost two inches taller and, whereas before he looked about-nine-or-ten, he's now clearly about-ten-or-eleven. Secondly, he's got a new outfit...

Now, finally, it's all ready! Enzo pelts back into the barroom, bellows "PARTY TIME!!" and heads back outside.

"You cannot feel it at all hardy," Mary complains. "It is only you look down all of a sudden and you have more legs than you used to and then you need new clothing."

It's possible that this is somewhat badly phrased.

Enzo blinks and stares before reparsing Mary's statement. "You, uh, mean longer legs, right? 'Cause I haven't seen any Users with more'n two. But you would need new clothes if that happened..."

Patiently: "Yes. More of your legs, because they are longer."

"You would get all tangled and trip!"

"There is not enough room to put them in a row," Mary points out, reasonably. "There is nowhere for them to come out of."

"I think your hips would have to grow to make it work, either way. Front-to-back or side-to-side."

Mary gives her hips a dour look.

"That is meant to happen too - but hopefully not soon, anyways."

Enzo glances critically at Mary's hips, then at those of any adult women within viewing range. "Yeah, but they'd have to grow more than that to fit a third leg."

"Perhaps they could grow a third half-leg," Mary muses. "It could come from the knee. They could grow four even!"

"What, like two calves for each thigh? That'd be neat! The back feet'd have to point the other way, though."

Triumphant: "So they could run backwards easier."

Good thought! "But then the head would need to turn farther so they could see where they're going."

"Perhaps they could grow eyes in the back of their head as well while they were at it," Mary suggests.

"That works better," Enzo agrees. "Whole other face, or just the eyes? And you'd need to move the hair out of the way."

"Unless they were perhaps on tentacles. Like with aliens." Mary gestures with her hands the way tentacles might be placed on the back of somebody's head. "Then they could move about, too, so if they needed eyes to the side they might have them."

Enzo pictures this. "Makes sense. All the eyes on stalks, or just the back ones?"

"Only the back ones," Mary says, after some more thought. "Otherwise there might be trouble when it was windy."
