Belle is, once again, in Bar. She has a multitude of shopping bags around her feet, and a thoughtful look on her face.

There are certain people she is looking for. But other than that, she's just enjoying her coffee.

"Havin' some trouble gettin' my record cleared with the Guardian Collective," Mouse says bitterly. "But otherwise fine. Ray'n I visited my mother. She approves, an' I don't think he'd mind her bein' his mother-in-law. If it comes t'that," she adds quickly.

"Dat's always good." Belle says with a wide grin. "Still talk t' my father-in-law, even dough my marriage melted down."

"Y'know, speakin' o' that, I asked Ray about his parents, an' he got all nervous all of a sudden," Mouse says. She looks pensive for a few moments, then shrugs. "Aw, I'll let him have a breather after meetin' Ma b'fore I bring that up again."

"I lucked out, I guess. My parents have kinda known each other f'r deir whole lives."

It just hadn't been a very friendly thing at the beginning.

"Well, mine an' his didn't live in th'same system," Mouse says. "Not even th'same cluster. An' from what Ray tells me, his folks are kinda upright citizens. He ain't said anythin', but I know he thinks I won't go over with 'em too well."

Belle chuckles. "Lucked out again. My father-in-law knew from de get go I ain't an unright citizen."

He just hadn't anticipated she'd spend so much time horizontal with his son.

"Well, I got another problem on top o'that," Mouse says. "See, my not bein' a good citizen got me on the Guardians' wanted list. The Prime Guardian said he was gonna clear me for helpin' t'fight Daemon, but o'course he ain't followed through yet." Mouse flashes a grimace of extreme irritation. "I won't get chased by the law in Mainframe, but anywhere else on the Net...well, things could get hairy. Not the best situation fer visitin' yer sweetheart's folks."
