When she had come in this morning, Barbara hadn't been sure whether she was angry at the semi-cruelty of knowing this was temporary or simply deliriously grateful to have her legs back. Judging by the near constant laughter and the huge smile on her face, she's settled for the latter.

While she normally tries to keep a low profile in the bar, today there's a good chance you've seen her. It might be because she refuses to walk sedately around like a normal person. Oh no, she feels that the only proper method of travel is running and cartwheeling and handspringing and maybe flipping a bit. She also seems to move around at random, sometimes just because she can.

It really is marvelous.

"Today," she smiles, "I'm Batgirl." Then she laughs, "It's been a long time since I could say that. Feels good."

"I'm glad for you. So, who are you when you're not Batgirl?" he asks. "Or," he continues, tilting his head slightly. "Is it bad manners to ask?"

She considers for a moment, then shrugs, "Well, it's not bad manners really. It's just that some people here don't know I used to be her. I'd sort of like to avoid spreading it around too much."

"No offense intended, of course."

"None taken," Axel replies. "I understand. There aren't many around here who know who I used to be, and while my name's no secret, I don't generally advertise the rest."

"Yeah. It's a pretty interesting place that way," she glances around the bar and shakes her head. "Weird place to call home, I suppose."

"I also have a place with Hephaestos back in Mt. Etna, but I spend most of my time here," he says. "But this is certainly an interesting place to live. The living and the dead, gods, and powers, and mere mortals aaaaaall tossed into the same box, and left to our own devices."

"It is fascinating, I'll admit. All sorts of things to learn and people to meet. There are worse places."

"Yeah," he agrees. "Sometimes, you can even meet people you'd thought were gone. Regain things you thought were lost. I think those are even better than the new things."

Barbara smiles, "True enough. I feel like I'm just beginning to touch on some of the possibilities here."

"You can learn a lot, just by watching people in this place."

"That's definitely true," she laughs. "I do an awful lot of watching myself, most of the time."

He grins; being a cat, it's full of sharp teeth, and being Axel, it looks more like a Cheshire grin than anything else, but the sentiment is still there.

"So how does being a cat suit you, anyway?"

"Not too poorly, altogether," Axel replies. "There are certain advantages to the shape, although getting the waitrats to bring me anything is trial."

"I bet. I think I'll stick with what I've got," she laughs and bounces up on her toes.

He laughs in return.

"There are definite advantages to being bipedal," he agrees.

"No arguments from me on that point," she grins.

"Everything has its drawbacks though. Hominids really can't get away with this, for instance," he adds, letting himself drape into catgoo over the chairback.

"I suppose. But I think the ability to perform a back handsrping into a double tuck sort of makes up for it."

"Whatever suits you," he says, pulling himself up into a comfortable loaf.

She laughs, "I take it you're not really a cat of action, then."

"I never said that," he replies. "I merely choose to conserve my energies for when they're needed."

The catshape also intensely encourages sloth.

"Of course. Like... for eating, and other important things, right?" she teases.

"Eating, smiting my foes," Axel replies, flexing a handclaw.

"I still have opposable thumbs, and that's the important part."

Barbara rolls her eyes, "That's great, but somehow I doubt you've used them for much..."
