Reba tries the door every day. Every day so far she has rattled the door and then turn around to head back upstairs or to find food. However this time she rattles the knob and says "Anyone here willing to take a short note down?" as the door swings very slightly open.

"I will, if you like, miss," says a soft voice from over by the fire, coming closer as he speaks.

"Thanks." Reba says as she turns somewhat toward the voice "I'd write it myself but I'm pretty sure that Lucian doesn't read braille. Do you have pen and paper of some sort?"

"Braile?" he says. "Oh, I see. Err, yes -" he fumbles around in his backpack for a second, pulling out a notepad and a pencil.
"Got them."

"Blind." Reba says, lifting her cane to illustrate "Okay. Note says: Dear Lucian - the door finally opened and I didn't run into you. I've got a napkin and if I can come back I'll give it a try. Reba." then she stops to see if the person taking notes for her needs her to repeat any of it.

Just to be sure, he reads it out loud as he writes. "Dear L-lu-lu-shi-en? How do you spell that?" He's not too good with western names, the poor thing.
