"Don't believe him, Jamie!" Ace wails from under the table. It's happening again, just like last time. Just, this time, there's no Time-Lord looking out for her.
Still on his guard, Jamie hears Ace's warning. "An' what is this Fen-ric, Ace? Is this he?" Jaime wishes silently that the Doctor was around, he'd know what to do.
THe man in front of him hasn't done anything yet, even though Jamie's pistol was now uselessss. JAmie's hand creeps towards his dirk.
I'm not. Most people are afraid of me, with good reason. But being "Fenric" and wanting The Doctor's companions to serve me isn't one of them. *Bigby looks grim.*
As for trusting me, I just told you. I'm in charge here. *His eyes narrow and he's looking irritated at the whole thing... repeating himself over and over.* Not to mention Tim.
And while your weapons might hurt me, you'd all be very, very dead if I wanted it. *Reassuring? No, wrong channel, sadly.*
Ace couldn't leave Jamie to face that demon alone. Never let it be said that Ace lacks nerve. She bolts out from under the table and plants herself smack dab in front of Jamie, her frame taunt with barely repressed fury. "You can't have Jamie either!" she snarls, her eyes narrowed.
*Tim is back. And in no mood for stupidity. He appears supremely pissed off.*
ACE! He is not Fenric. Trust me, I know him, I've worked with him for months. His wife is the first person i met here. Stop being stupid. And listen to me.
Definitely more fear than bravado now. She sobs, backing up until she backs into Jamie, unable to go any further. "He can look like anyone, he said he'd be back, you dont' understand, he doesn't give up..." she's definitely babbling now. She just wants to go home, get away, far, far away.
Grabbibg Ace by the shoulders, Jamie pulls her away from Bigby. "Ace! Get ouuta me way."
Turning back to the man, he squares his shoulders. "If ye are the constable o' this bar...Ach, but you have given my friend a rare frightening. MAyhaps an error was made..."
*Bigby glares at the rather dense woman.* He's one of The Doctor's "companions" too? *Guess The Doctor's bi, then.*
*He dismisses it all with a hand wave.* I don't want him. Or you.
*He looks exasperated. His random eye-rolling and head movements lines up with his kids though, and figures it's time to call it a day.* Just go. I have to look after my children. *He dismisses both Ace and Jamie. The children, meanwhile, look saucer-eyed at the events inflicting heaps of guilt upon those who are susceptible to that.*
*Tim takes Bigbys elbow and steers him gently away.*
let them recuperate boss, i'll talk to her later, when shes coherent. As is, we have Issues. I just had to toss three weaslys in jail for breech of both rules....
Well, the twins went after Mister Malfoy because of something he did back in the real world to their sister. Something about giving her a book? And, well, Ron went after Tom, because, uhm, in normal reality, Tom wrote that book.
I hear lot of things. I'm trying to keep an ear on everything, when i can... Apparently this book took over thier sister, almost killed her, made her try and kill other people, includings Rons best friend.... Fucking Magic.
Jamie grabs Ace gently by the arm. "Come Ace, he doesna want us. We can away from this. Out the door to the loch, lasss..." Jamie helps the shaking and distraught young woman away. This isn't the strang, daring woman he'd met only a few days ago. This was a child scared of monsters. Real monsters.
He looks back once at Bigby, and gives him a sharp, warning look that says don't come near her again...
She lets Jamie pull her away - out the door, hey maybe it will lead to the TARDIS, the nice, safe TARDIS... the lake'll work too. Just don't go in the water... She's shaking so hard her coordination is messed up, but she manages to stumble along. Anything to get away.
Leading Ace out by the spot under a tree that he's come to favor, he helps her sit. Sitting down next to her, Jamie pulls a battered flask from his sporran, and offers it to Ace, She obviously needs a drink.
Ace accepts the flask, tipping it back with the same motion Bernice once spent a long time trying to teach her, swallowing a dose of the contents that would have done a hardened drinker proud. Grimacing, she hands the flask back. She takes a couple deep breaths to steady herself a bit, looks once over her should to make sure that no one had followed them, then begins. "You know how there's regular troublemakers in the universe, and then there's the ones that even the Doctor hates going up against?" Ace asks, her voice nowhere near steady. "Fenric beat the Doctor. He won, Jamie." She looks down at her hands, suddenly unable to look her fellow companion in the eye. "And I helped him win."
