At least it was quieter here. Tara slid into an empty booth, put her drink down and rested her head in her hands.
The slow throb above her left eye may be starting to fade. Slightly.

And sitting on the table in one of the booths, instead of out in the home.
Still.
She could sense Tara approach, see her heat and taste her, and a couple of her slender black snakes rear up over the divider. Head in hands (albeit blurred, just heat not vision) and Medusa frowns, slightly.
"Are you all right?"
no subject
"I'm fine...just tired."
If she doesn't think about it, the headache might go away.
"Thanks."

"I understand the feeling. There are rooms upstairs if you would appreciate the quiet more. Down here, people tend to break out into song."

The chiming catches her attention. The young woman has a wonderful costume.
"And upstairs would be too far."

Tara looked around and shrugged.
"Iyam was planning an addition to the Abyss, but I didn't think he'd finished it."

She glanced back at the door she'd entered through.
"Only he's late. Like usual."

Her head returns to rest in her hands.
"He's frustrating."

Tara eyes the other woman curiously.
"Are you sure you're not Iyam's female double?" A beat. "Or perhaps telepathic?"
no subject
"Neither. My name is Medusa. I was not being metaphorical."
no subject
"I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself earlier. I'm Tara."
There's another glance at the door and then there is a glance at her watch. Not that it makes much difference what time it reads here. Iyam had already been nearly an hour late to see her when she came in.

Tara frowned a little.
"I should go and see if my boyfriend has arrived yet."

Unless it's vanished."

"Thanks." She stood slowly and hesitated a moment, smiling awkwardly. "Perhaps we'll see each other again here."
