((Flashback OOM: An eight year-old bunny gets some news about his mother. Misunderstanding ensues.))
Anyone who's seen Momiji's five year-old self scampering about will perhaps note that the blonde boy bounding in today is, while not nearly as old as the teenager that usually graces the Bar with his presence, noticeably larger. Or, taller, at least - he's still small for his age and thin to the point of being scrawny. Gone, too, are the standard boy's clothes he wore then. They've been replaced by a colorful, girly sweater, along with a bright, pink scarf, with designs of a hopping rabbit knitted onto it.
"Here...?" He skids to stop, looking baffled as he comes in. The confusion doesn't hold him for long, though, and, soon, he's off to the Bar, placing a rather long, rambling order and emptying out a little wallet that he pulls from one pocket.
And so it is that, a few minutes later, there's a delighted rabbit-boy sitting at a table, next to a plate of warm, pink and blue frosted cookies and a sign printed in three languages.
The sign declares, in English, Japanese, and German: "Celebration Cookies!"
It's a very rare entry into the annals of "free Milliways food that won't erase your memory/change your gender/steal your soul/etc."

Hey, cookies! Celebration cookies!
"What are we celebrating?" Mia asks when she comes up, smiling bright.
Okay, so Momiji is shorter than 16 year old Momiji, but not quite as small as 5 year old Momiji.

"My mama's going to have a baby!"
The cookies are held out in her direction excitedly.

Glee!
She takes a pink cookie.
"How far along is she? Do you know if you're going to have a brother or sister? Are you excited to be a big brother?"
no subject
"Uh-huh! A lot! I can't wait...but papa says they don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet."
no subject
She munches her cookie thoughtfully.
"Do you think your parents are going to need anything? Like baby blankets and toys?"
Big brothers can always help with gifts from the family.
no subject
Really, the Sohmas probably wouldn't need to do more than wave at a maid to have all of that picked up, but that's beside the point...baby shopping is still exciting.
no subject
"Well, sometimes families and friends share those things when they have children close together. But parents could always use more."
She finishes her cookie.
"You know, I've been wanting to learn how to do needlework. I could to try make a blanket for your baby brother or sister."
no subject
...Milliways blanket! Yay!
"I bet the baby would really like it!"
no subject
She picks up a blue cookie.
"Since we don't know if the baby will be a boy or a girl yet and since I don't know how much time I'll have to work on the blanket, we should probably choose a color both boys and girls would like."

"What kind of celebration?"
no subject
"My mama's going to have another baby. They just found out, today!"

"Thanks!" Momiji settles back down in his chair, holding up his plate of cookies towards her.
"So...want one?"
He's just going to eat the leftovers himself, if no one else does.
no subject
She accepted a pink cookie with a smile and "Thank you very much."
no subject
They're safe, really! Just freshly baked/materialized and covered in very sugary-sweet stuff.

"It'll be really great! And I'll get to go see mama in the hospital and everything."
Because that's what you do when someone has a baby, right?

"Will the cookies do anything to you?"
no subject
"I guess if you ate too many you'd get a tummy-ache. But I don't think I got enough for that."
He had limited funds, after all.
no subject
"All right then, I'm Ginny"
She said softly.
no subject
"Nice to meet you!"
no subject
"Like wise. So what are you celebrating?"
no subject
Momiji shrugs. He doesn't particularly care about the gender - it's the younger sibling part that's so wonderful.
"I just found out, today!"
no subject
"That is good news. Do you have other siblings?"
no subject
This is a relatively amazing thought for him. He sort of feels like the baby even at school, where his class is all his age. But being tiny does that, really.
