At some undefined point, there is a goddess sitting at a table, watching the spectacle being played out through the window.

Shiva's working here is as beautiful as it is destructive.

Devi is not adverse to interruption.

One can only experiment with silent evasion maneuvers for so long before wanting to come down and see what's going on from a human perspective, or at least a human height's perspective. A little to Devi's left, a yellow-and-chrome robot perhaps five feet in height drops down from the rafters and makes a perfect three-point landing on the floor.

Whoop! Bumblebee makes an apologetic sqwark noise and bows in return. "Sorry," he says. "I didn't mean to disturb anyone."

"Oh good," says the crackly-voiced robot, sounding relieved. "My name is Bumblebee. Pleased to meet you, miss."

Bumblebee nods. "Are you new here?" he asks. "I don't remember seeing you here before."

"Like Ratchet," says Bumblebee. "Our medic knows where the door is that leads here most often, but he's never bothered to come. Which is a pity- I think he'd like it."

[identity profile] prob-japanese.livejournal.com 2008-01-25 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Probably. We have no backup medic if anything happens to him, so that may be part of it," says Bumblebee. "I'll have to bring him more samples of medical texts from here, see if that lures him..."

Bumblebee nods again. "He's very dedicated," he says. "It helps. I'm a scout and a courier, myself- what is it you do, if I can ask?"

"Oh!" says Bumblebee. "From what?"

She doesn't look like law enforcement or the military, so it's probably on an entirely different level.

Bumblebee tilts his head, sorting the word against the human songs and movies he knows. "I don't think I know the name," he says, "but demons- those I have an idea of. That's hard work."

The robot doesn't rub at his neck, but it's a very close thing.

"One in particular," he says, "whom we call the Planet Eater, or the Nullspark. We don't use his name if we can avoid it- but you may hear him called Unicron."

[identity profile] prob-japanese.livejournal.com 2008-01-25 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"In many universes and timelines he has devoured our homeworld, Cybertron," says Bumblebee. "In others, he was stopped before he could succeed- though he came very close. In ours he hasn't manifested in a long, long time, but his minions are starting to stir now that our homeworld is lost to us anyway. Here-" Bumblebee hesitates. "Here, he found me when I was examining the cars in the garage hidden under our feet, and tried to murder me. I fought back, but he's more than any one Cybertronian could hope to face alone, unless they were something out of legend."

[identity profile] prob-japanese.livejournal.com 2008-01-25 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thank you," says Bumblebee gravely. "Our people appreciate it." He pauses before adding, "You would be more than human, I'm sure, but... what are you capable of?"

It isn't a skeptical question. Just a curious one.

Bumblebee nods. "Probably not one of the gods my race knows," he says, "if it was an Earth god- but it sounds as if they knew what they were doing."
