"You can go back?" he asks, puzzled. "And you don't have to call me mister."

She nodded her head again before turning and pointing toward her corner. It was the darkest part of the bar just down from the fireplace where no tables or anything sat. "I have to go back to the Old Kingdom. Antubis needs me."

Dark dead eyes turn back to Alex before she tilts her head a little to the right. "You can't leave here?"

"Not to my old home, no," he says.

"Wouldn't want to, anyway. I like it better, here."
