Tom doesn't look so hot, honestly.

Unless "hot" means "slumped in a booth in sweats and a long-sleeved T-shirt, drinking coffee and looking like he hasn't gotten much sleep lately."

In which case, Tom is freaking smoking.

"Are there zombies here?"

Her interested-bordering-on-hopeful tone probably isn't very appropriate.

He opens his mouth -- closes it, hunches his shoulders.

"I've only seen one here. --Well, there was . . . No. Just the one."

"Good thing it wasn't allowed to... do ... whatever then."

Elle - still helpful!

"Oh, it tried."

She tilts her head, but her expression is definitely more curious than concerned.

"What happened to it?"

"Its keeper took it home again, I guess," he replies, ~~sulkily~~ absently.

"Oh."

So... zombies have keepers? Er.

"Someone... brought it? That... seems..."

Stupid? She guesses?

"Dangerous and fucking stupid?"

That does sound right.

"Maybe it should be a rule. 'Don't bring zombies.'"

Along with her other proposed rule, 'Don't wear ugly orange things.'

He snorts. "Someone'd probably say it was prejudiced."

Elle's not all that familiar with this concept.

So she just shrugs and says, "If it can't follow the rules..."

Even Elle can do that! Er. Probably. Mostly.

Unless there was a no bugging people rule. But there's NOT, so HA.

"Hey, I think it'd be a great idea."

"Guess you'll have to wait and shoot them when they come in."

Beat.

"But you're not supposed to do that in here."

Conundrum!

"Yeah, I picked up on that."

He sighs, scratching his beard. "Shouldn't waste the bullets in here, anyway."

Elle tilts her head for a moment, perhaps feeling bad for those with limited ammunition.

"The... Security could - take care of it anyway?" she hazards, after a moment.

A shrug. "You'd hope so."

There's a pause, and then Elle slides out of the booth again.

"Well, I have to go... do something..."

Probably. A something that wasn't around when she was staring at him for no apparent reason.

Without much concern, but still there - "Good luck with your zombies.

"And nightmares."
